But, please don't throw me into the brier patch

Oh, the poor little bastid

[SNIP]

Asia Argento, the Italian actress who was one of the first to publicly accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, secretly paid off a young male actor accusing her of sexual misconduct in the months after her revelations about the disgraced movie mogul.

According to a report in The New York Times, Argento paid former child actor Jimmy Bennett $380,000. Bennett claims that in 2013, a then 37-year-old Argento assaulted him in a California hotel only two months past his 17th birthday. The age of consent in California is 18.

Asia Argento was one of the first and most vocal accusers of disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. So, now, The Weinstein camp are striking back.   I guess he's off the hook now.

Wouda ... Coulda

Spoiler Alert:
Robert De Niro and Peter Fonda have ruined two favorite movies for me
By Stu Tarlowe - American Thinker

In case you haven’t heard, Peter Fonda publicly called for horrendous things to be done to President Trump’s 12-year old son, Barron ...

And now it’s Peter Fonda, managing to take away my enjoyment of a film that was an anthem of my generation, Easy Rider. In case you haven’t heard, Peter Fonda publicly called for horrendous things to be done to President Trump’s 12-year old son, Barron, in addition to referring to the president with the same type of latrine-mouth vitriol that De Niro so enjoys spewing.

Fonda has since issued an apology and withdrawn the vulgar comments and threats. Although the agency charged with protecting the president and his family has not officially commented, it’s speculated that Fonda’s apology just may have been inspired by the Secret Service having “a little talk” with him.

But that apology won’t keep me from seeing Peter Fonda in a different light now than I’ve seen him in for all these years since he starred in that iconic film. (*EDITOR) Maybe he never thought of Easy Rider the way I did, as a celebration of America and its beauty and its freedoms, even as it exposed some of the country’s ugliest flaws.

*EDITOR NOTE:

When I watched Easy Rider (1969) it immediately reminded me of Woodstock (1969), an event I had hoped Lyndon Johnson would carpet bomb.  Had he done so, roughly 100%  of today's college educators would ... not have been.

But,  nice article Stu

The Wages of Scummery

  Rancid Culture

Anthony Bourdain, Exit Left
At a certain point I stopped watching Anthony Bourdain's food travel show after his leftist political views became too strident (or mine more conservative?).  Anyway; of late I noted that his name was popping up alongside all manner of Hollywood scum. Today I learn that he had been working for CNN. Just guessing here, but I think a realization that he'd surrounded himself with a pack of liars and hateful scum was too much to live with, so he killed himself.   RIP Mr. Bourdain; we hope you will escape the fires of Hell.. Really.

Jimmy Kimmel's in a way down trajectory

Video Captures Moment People Literally Thought Trump and MLK Got Into Fight
Comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s self-appointed role as the demagogic conscience of the reactionary, uninformed wing of the American left has worn thin fast.

That, alas, has made it sometimes difficult to remember that the ABC late night host — for all of his belligerent sanctimony — is surprisingly capable of incisive cultural commentary when he tries.
Perhaps the best example of this is his segment “Lie Witness News,” where Kimmel’s camera crew hits the streets of Hollywood to ask people about things that are, well, blatant lies. For reasons unknown to God and man, people inexplicably go along with it (although I suspect it has something to do with the arrant stupidity of Californians or some sort of psychosocial tendency to believe anyone with a camera and a microphone that perhaps Stanley Milgram could better explain).
While this edition of “Lie Witness News” wasn’t quite as epic as the one where people actually congratulated North Korea on detonating a hydrogen bomb, it managed to come awfully close — particularly given the outrageous subject matter.
“It’s President Trump’s first MLK Day in office, and we wanted to do something special to commemorate that,” Kimmel told his audience Monday. “So we went out on the streets this afternoon and we asked people, ‘Whose side are you on in the Donald Trump-Dr. King Twitter war?’”
“Of course, Dr. Martin Luther King has been gone for 50 years,” Kimmel added as his audience laughed. “But did that stop people from weighing in on this impossible feud? No, it did not.”
The segment began with an interviewer asking people on the street, “We’re talking to people today about the big Twitter war that’s going on between Donald Trump and Dr. Martin Luther King. Why do those two not get along?” Cue absurdity: [FULL]

Hollywood Hate

Think: Hitler's Most Hated People of All Time

STACY DASH- HATED BY THE LEFT

The actress is known for the funny comedy Clueless, but she hasn’t acted in a long time. Now, she is most known for having controversial opinions when it comes to race. She was one of the few stars who defended Paula Deen, the celebrity chef who admitted in court that she had said the N-word in the past. Dash tweeted her support to Deen, “Only God can judge your heart BTW my daughter loves your show (only way she can get me to cook).”
Dash also spoke out against the existence of BET and called Jesse Williams a “plantation slave” after he gave a powerful speech accepting the BET Humanitarian Award. “You’ve just seen the perfect example of a HOLLYWOOD plantation slave! Sorry, Mr. Williams,” she said. “But the fact that you were standing on that stage at THOSE awards tells people you really don’t know what your talking about. Just spewing hate and anger.”
Dash’s comments got her a contributor spot on Fox News, but she was later fired. Her terrible comments have definitely made Hollywood distance itself from her, and turned her into the butt of a joke at the Oscars in 2016.
According to Robert Yaniz Jr

This, the least hated from a list of 17, says everything we need to know about Hollywood values.  Like we didn't already.

Tinseltown Travelogue

People like me are foreigners in La La Land. The most unhinged voices in this liberal colony think we’re the worst scum imaginable – an idiotic, deplorable, irredeemable, unwashed clan they call right-wingers. Thankfully, many of us couldn’t care less what they think.. Andrew Breitbart warned of how much we were hated in this town, and set up Big Hollywood to even the playing field. And as the New York Times puts it – we’ve been “perfecting the art” of weaponizing their own words against them ever since.

People committing professional suicide

In January, Madonna, speaking at the Women’s March on Washington, said that she’d “thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House.”

In a TMZ video in 2015, Mickey Rourke, the boxer-turned-actor, called Trump a “big-mouthed b—– bully,” saying he would “love 30 seconds in a room with the little b—–.” Rourke has also expressed a desire to “give [Trump] a Louisville slugger.”

In 2016, Larry Wilmore, the host of Comedy Central’s now-canceled “The Nightly Show” joked about then-candidate Donald Trump: “I don’t want to give him any more oxygen. That’s not a euphemism, by the way. I mean it literally. Somebody get me the pillow they used to kill [Supreme Court Justice Antonin] Scalia and I’ll do it — I’ll do it!

In 2016, Mexican-American comedian George Lopez tweeted a cartoon image of former Mexican president Vincente Fox holding the decapitated head of Donald Trump aloft, with the caption “Make America Great Again.”

Also, last year, shock-rocker Marilyn Manson released a teaser video for his song, “Say10,” released just after the 2016 election, a Trump-like figure wearing a suit and a red tie lies decapitated on a concrete floor, in a pool of his own blood.

In February 2017, actor Robert De Niro said on ABC’s “The View” that he would like to punch Trump in the face. He clarified earlier comments, saying “It wasn’t like I was gonna go find him and [really] punch him in the face, but he’s gotta hear it.”

In March 2017, rapper Snoop Dogg released a music video that cast Trump as a clown and orchestrated his death. At the video’s end, the “Gin and Juice” rapper points a gun at the harlequin Trump figure and shoots. But instead of a bullet, a red flag that reads “Bang!” fires out of the gun.

Earlier this month, the musician Moby released a cartoonish video in which a transformer-like Trump morphs into a swastika/dollar sign and wreaks havoc on a city before meeting a fiery, explosive demise.

Meanwhile, Hollywood director Josh Fox just blasted President Trump and Mitch McConnell in a tweet, calling them “terrorists” over the Senate version of the health care bill. It said the Obamacare replacement “sentences poor people to death.” In April he made headlines for suggesting that that instead of bombing ISIS, the United States should love them instead, and end terrorism that way.

On MSNBC Thursday, Elise Jordan, a former Bush White House aide, warned Republicans against defending Trump, comparing doing so to “hugging a suicide bomber.” The comments were in response to Trump’s latest tweets undermining his previous statement hinting that he may have recorded tapes of his conversations with former FBI director James Comey.

Meanwhile, a total of 30 Republican members of Congress have either been attacked or revealed that they were the victim of a death threat since the beginning of May.

On Thursday, an audio recording was posted on YouTube of a Nebraska Democratic Party official saying he was glad Rep. Steve Scalise, R-Louisiana, was shot last week. Phil Montag, a technology chairman for the party, was fired for saying: “His whole job is to get people, convince Republicans to (expletive) kick people off (expletive) health care. I’m glad he got shot. I wish he was f***ing dead.)”

Ready when you are, Mr. DeMille

Hollywood celebrity Chelsea Handler has helped Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff reach record fundraising levels with her contributions, but she doesn't even know when the election is.

Handler demonstrated this Tuesday when she invited her nearly seven million Twitter followers to get out and vote for Ossoff—even though the election isn't taking place until next week on April 18.
