QOD

we have met the enemy and ...

Impeach Boehner & McConnell

First Barack Obama decided to overreach and extend amnesty by executive order. One judge in Texas has told him no and Republicans are hanging their hat on that judge’s order.

Then the FCC decided to declare internet a public utility. They overreached, rushed it through, and committed to as little transparency as possible to make it happen. Congress did nothing on this front and the FCC decided to replace the Congress on the matter.

Now there are reports that Barack Obama, by executive order and agency regulation, will curtail the manufacture of certain ammunition.

At some point men have to stand up and damn the consequences to do what is right. But we are not led by leaders of men. We are led by cowards — cowards for whom no oath is meaningful or sacred.
Again and again and again the President of the United States has met the boundaries of his powers and stepped across them. The Senate is now on the verge of confirming his Attorney General appointee who sees no limits to the power of Octavius Obama.

Given Barack Obama’s continuous overreaching of power, I must now ask if it is time to consider impeachment proceedings. Is it even possible?

Of course some of you think I mean against Barack Obama. No, can we impeach, remove from office, or otherwise put metaphorical cement shoes on Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)N/A and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)67%?  [Full Excelentness]

Guilty of not doing nothing

Usual Suspect Rules
Obamacare Constitutional
Even though ObamaCare is a novel application of the Commerce Clause because it regulates the act of not engaging in economic activity, the judge concluded that in reality the Commerce Clause power extends to all economic decisions that affect commerce. He also argued that a person can not guarantee that he or she will opt out of the health care market. -TAS

Federal Judge George Steeh Rejects Challenge To Key Elements Of Health Care Law

Let's put aside for a moment that US District Court Judge George Steeh
  • was recommended for the bench by Senator Carl Levin
  • was  appointed by Bill Clinton.
  • is president of the Arab American Bar Association
  • is a social activist, including being an active member of the Interfaith Council for Racial Justice (one of which guiding principles is, ironically, Opposing political power that is derived from a racist appeal)
  • Has a history of basing far reaching decisions on "feel good" emanations.
Forget all that.  How in the hell do you bend the Commerce Clause pretzel,  yet again,  to regulate the act of not engaging in economic activity?  Arguing that a person can not guarantee that he or she won't do something?

I am in the school that thinks removing (impeaching) activist judges ought be the single highest priority of congress.  This guy is a poster boy candidate for inclusion.

This is just one suit, and a relatively minor one at that.  Here's a clearing house site for all suits being brought against Obamacare,

Shaky Legal Ground? LOL

I had to read this twice

EDITORIAL: The Kenya connection
Obama administration efforts in Africa may violate federal law

The Kenyan president wants a new constitution, one that opens the door to abortion on demand. President Obama is willing to use U.S. taxpayer dollars to persuade voters to approve the updated governing document, which would loosen regulations designed to protect the unborn, establish Muslim family courts and create a right to homosexual marriage. It's not unusual that Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki would see enactment of the provisions as a "government project," but Mr. Obama is on shaky legal ground when he commits U.S. government resources to it. [cont]

This Kenyan wetback is giving me a shit hemorrhage
Grrrrr
" .... $632,479.99 in federal grants whose explicit and direct purpose was rounding up affirmative votes [to allow abortion]" is on "shaky legal ground"?  So is Obama's entire presidency. Sheesh. .

As an aside, I've been wondering.  Is it only the lower classes who, when faced with reckless behavior by someone whose guts they hate anyway, will jump up and down, hurl obscene invective and hand signals, and want to publish pornographic pictures of his mother having sex with a goat?  Or, is that pretty much universal?

May I approach the bench?

... blatant dishonesty by the
administration,
on an Orwellian scale.
Then there is Obama's decision to impose a six-month moratorium on deepwater oil drilling in the Gulf. This penalizes companies with better safety records than BP's and will result in many advanced drilling rigs being sent to offshore oil fields abroad.

The justification offered was an Interior Department report supposedly "peer reviewed" by "experts identified by the National Academy of Engineering." But it turned out the drafts the experts saw didn't include any recommendation for a moratorium. Eight of the cited experts have said they oppose the moratorium as more economically devastating than the oil spill and "counterproductive" to safety.

This was blatant dishonesty by the administration, on an Orwellian scale.  -Michael Barone; Obama's thuggery is useless in fighting spill

The Wall Street Journal addressed the same subject [Crude Politics], and arrived at the same conclusion.

In a scathing document, eight of the "experts" the Administration listed in its report said their names had been "used" to "justify" a "political decision." The draft they reviewed had not included a six-month drilling moratorium. The Administration added that provision only after it had secured sign-off. In their document, the eight forcefully rejected a moratorium, which they argued could prove more economically devastating than the oil spill itself and "counterproductive" to "safety."

Obama Youth

Blue-State Bonanza for Americorps Funding

These numbers don't approach the perhaps hyperbolic remark by candidate Obama in July 2008 that "[w]e've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded [as our military]." But a force of 250,000 isn't insignificant; our Marine Corps numbers 203,000.
Overall, states that voted for Obama in 2008 garnered 81% of Ted Kennedy Serve America funding, while red states were thrown a bone of the remaining 19%.
