New York City. You Know it's something stupid.

                      —   you berks

If New York City Were A Stock, Traders Would Be Screaming 'Sell!'

Res Ipsa Loquitor

New York’s mayoral contest effectively ended when the first poll of the general election showed unapologetic business-bashing left-wing Democrat Bill de Blasio destroying Republican moderate Joseph Lhota by nearly a three to one margin, 65 percent to 22.

At this point, not even a sexting scandal could cost de Blasio the mayoralty, despite his absurdly thin resume: His biggest job to date, the ceremonial post of New York City Public Advocate, handles a budget of $2.3 million. That’s about 1/30,000th of the budget of the city of which he is about to be elected mayor.  [Full Gruesomeness]

And the downside to watching NYC commit suicide is?  So they bail; but to where?  Fleeing NY Liberals have already poisoned bordering regions.  Maybe Detroit can be designated like a leper colony?  A place where the "diseased" can be segregated from healthy economies.  It won't be as nice as, say Molokai, Hawaii,  but lepers were innocent victims; New Yorkers are willingly ignorant and stuck on stupid.  Am I right?

Bloomberg's Wonderland

Out of his Bloomberging mind; LOL
Res Ipsa Loquitor

It's not like New Yorkers didn't have fair warning that this guy's megalomania was going into full orbit.  They reelected him, and I hope he pushes a new button every day.  Of course, NY Liberals  are naturally compliant in the hands of (fellow Liberal) authoritarian autocrats, so they might  be experiencing a sexual masochistic thrill from all this.  Bastards.

Joe Nocera's Cancer

NY Times Vet Recounts His Insular World:
Didn't Meet Any Republicans Until Well Into Adulthood

Growing up in heavily Democratic Providence, R.I., in the 1950s, it was hard not to absorb the values of the Democratic Party — the party of Roosevelt, as my parents often reminded me, who had gotten the country through the Great Depression. My parents and their friends believed in a progressive income tax, in the importance of unions (my parents were public schoolteachers), and in a government that helped those who couldn’t help themselves. It wasn’t until I moved to Washington after college that I got to know any Republicans. Not until I was nearing 30, and living in Texas, did I see how conservative most of the country truly is.
Joe Nocara - another Liberal asshat

Joe Nocera states that he learned that  it was important for liberals to criticize various wrongheaded tenets of liberalism.  He once wrote a story about out of control teacher unions that was so strong that his teacher mother complained to the editor.  "I came to see myself as a pragmatist who favored common-sense solutions over ideology," says Joe. So this newest New York Times OP-Ed writer will act as a counter balance to the paper's band of left-wingnuts?  No. Good intentions will not, can not, overcome a life of Libthink.

Then came the financial crisis. I like to joke that there’s nothing like a good financial crisis to turn you into a liberal. But it’s not really a joke. The more I learned the back story that led to the crisis, the more horrified I became. The lack of regulation and oversight of Wall Street and the big subprime companies like Countrywide, driven by the ideology of deregulation, was thoughtless and irresponsible. The refusal of bank regulators to stop subprime abuses bordered on the criminally negligent ... That anger reached its apex on Tuesday, when I wrote a column comparing the Tea Party Republicans to terrorists.

Sorry Joe. Liberalism is harder to treat than pancreatic cancer. (See story below, Joe)

Palin and Lohan's vag?

Sarah -sticking it to the man

I LOVE IT!
Sarah has more than a little Ann Coulter in her when it comes to sticking needles into bloviating asshats, so who knows what her intentions really are here?  Somehow I think she'd like to have added, "Hell, even you could  beat him Baba, as  likely as not."  Like the point guard she was in high school, she's wisely letting the game come to her, and it is.

In the meanwhile, nothing has given me greater pleasure the past two years than the steady barrage from the left on  the perils of running Palin in 2012.  Here's my catch-of-the-day from the New York Daily News.

Brer Sarah
After the latest round of cheap family drama, how could Sarah Palin possibly position herself to go toe-to-toe with President Obama, as she appears to be gearing up to try to do?

Ruh-Roh!  Cheap family drama?  That, a reference to TLC's eight episode series "Sarah Palin's Alaska"  The first episode of which shattered TLC ratings records Sunday night.   OMFG! The Humanity.  It gets better.

During the 2008 campaign, John McCain rapped Barack Obama as the world's biggest celebrity. And since taking up residence in the White House, Obama has been slammed for going on "The View," "The Daily Show," ESPN, and the list goes on.
[...]
Now imagine the GOP chooses Palin to be its standard bearer in 2012 rather than someone super-serious and sober — an experienced, grounded grownup, like Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Mitch Daniels or a slew of others.
[...]
They will have answered a man who they claim is an in-over-his-head publicity hound with a woman who is far shallower, far less serious and far more obsessed with image-making than governing.

Blah-blah-blather. Right now you're asking yourself, "Who wrote this crap?"  That would be a Joshua Greenman.  Before ending his wretchedly vapid, and obvious attempt to curry favor with the paper's more vituperative readers - who would read a 600 word column that repeated I Hate Palin 200 times -  he becomes, well, nasty.

Because it's now official: The Palins have become the Lohans of politics.

The Palin family's appearance in this very wholesome, family oriented show is, to him, on par with Lindsay Lohan flashing vag, and snorting coke.  What a home life he must have had. I love feeling superior to these people, which is not always warranted; but with Joshua Greenman -- I AM superior.  Woot-woo, kick ass and big boners to all!

Teacher Union's Rubber Room

The Rubber Room
Battle over New York City’s worst teachers.

Didn't I read this story while Reagan was president?

Boned Jello
In a windowless room in a shabby office building at Seventh Avenue and Twenty-eighth Street, in Manhattan, a poster is taped to a wall, whose message could easily be the mission statement for a day-care center: “Children are fragile. Handle with care.” It’s a June morning, and there are fifteen people in the room, four of them fast asleep, their heads lying on a card table. Three are playing a board game. Most of the others stand around chatting. Two are arguing over one of the folding chairs. But there are no children here. The inhabitants are all New York City schoolteachers who have been sent to what is officially called a Temporary Reassignment Center but which everyone calls the Rubber Room.
Boned Jello

These fifteen teachers, along with about six hundred others, in six larger Rubber Rooms in the city’s five boroughs, have been accused of misconduct, such as hitting or molesting a student, or, in some cases, of incompetence, in a system that rarely calls anyone incompetent.

The teachers have been in the Rubber Room for an average of about three years, doing the same thing every day—which is pretty much nothing at all.

Farrakhan - saner than Frank Rich

The best of these has to be Frank Rich's. The Palin-Whatshisname Ticket   In a nutshell ...
The hell of it is, I've understated the lunacy exhibited by Rich.  Pairing him with Farrakhan actually tempers the perception you'll have of Rich's ravings, until you read it. The New York Times. OMFG. Has this man reproduced?

New York Sorry Asses

Let's reconsider the benefits of anarchy first

Appeals court holds Port Authority liable in 1993 WTC bombing

A state appeals court on Tuesday upheld a jury's verdict that the Port Authority was chiefly to blame for the 1993 terrorist bombing at the twin towers.

In a blistering decision, a five-judge panel unanimously agreed with a Manhattan judge who last year refused to throw out the jury's 2005 verdict. The jury found the PA ignored years of warnings that the towers were a "prime" terrorist target.

Even Dinkins pales by comparison

Hey New York - You Are What You Eat.  And Elect.

This will be last time I mention Bloomberg, unless he actually runs for president as an independent, but I can't let this Real Clear Politics assessment of him go by. It so captures the New York voter profile of willful ignorance, pomposity, and flamboyant nincompoopery.  San Francisco with an accent.

  • Bloomberg on the primary debates: "If you look at both debates, [the candidates] pandered, what I would argue, the same ways."
He then labels the debates "just theater," only to admit he didn't watch either -- or rather any, as there have been a few more than just two.
  • Bloomberg on the press: "The press really is not doing its job of holding [the candidates'] feet to the fire. ... The tough questions are not what are you in favor of, but how are you going to get it through Congress?"
....  in this age of 24-hour news, how likely is it that reporters aren't asking the "tough questions"? For all the criticisms, the early start to this season's campaign means that anyone who's been paying attention could tell you where each top-tier candidate stands on the issues.
  • *Bloomberg on the candidates: "I think that none of them are addressing [terrorism, immigration, health care and education]."
This is a common refrain from independent-minded pols, despite the fact that, in this cycle at least, it's willfully ignorant. One might not like what the candidates are saying, but they're certainly talking about these issues.
  • Bloomberg on the state of the nation: Gerstein writes, "Mr. Bloomberg painted a picture of politicians in Washington dithering as America runs aground. 'The country is in trouble,' was his grim refrain."
Coming from a politician whose two most notable achievements in office are banning smoking and trans fat, this is a laughable criticism.

In any case, despite this litany of Independent Candidate Cliches, Bloomberg says he's not running.

"The USA is in trouble for not doing things my way"

BLOOMBERG EXITS GOP

I endorse Bloomsky for Independent candidate for President in 2008!

And stay out ya freaking asshat!

There may be some arcane benefit to having this guy on the rolls as a Republican, but I can't think of a one.  It will be just wonderful if this pompous ass bankrolls himself into an independent run for president.  In fact, allow me to announce my wholehearted support for that effort.
