LOVE IT! Submitted by Welsby on Wed, 03/26/2014 at 8:38 am. This whole article is about blame and name game. The issue can start back to the Supreme Court ruling on the ACA. The original ACA plan was never supposed to be a tax plan. The President was mad when the SC agreed to hear the case. When the vote went in the ACA favor based upon a tax ruling the Dems sang its praise. However, the SC ruled that States have some say in the matter, as they should, about the ACA law. Moving forward the roll out was a complete disaster, over $600 million was spent to fix the problem and how much more money has been spent on paid commercials for the law. Now VA law makers are fighting each side. Sad part is 7 trillion in new debt and govt has money to give to the states? This was the lone comment  to a Virginia Pilot story about Virginia Republicans Resist Medicaid Expansion.  Thumbs-up.

McAufful-tougher gun laws

Oh good lord ...  “ Is is possible that several hundred thousand Marylanders from Montgomery and P.G. Counties have fled to Virginia?  How else could a shifty ex-Clinton enabler like McAufful even be in this race (he's+5)?  I mean, wtf?  Virginia, under the stewardship of Governor Bob McDonnell and Attorney General Cuccinelli built a thriving economy  second to none. And they successfully challenged Obama initiatives like Obama care.  The Tale of Two States says it all. McAufful is a savvy politician and skilled con-man, so what does he know that would prompt him to see enactment of a Colorado style gun law in Virginia as a plus? Mayor Bloomberg certainly thinks he has leverage on McAuffle, and maybe he does?  Or, does McAufful have the election results in hand?  I'm just asking. Here's the Richmond Time's endorsement "McAufful is the Better Choice" "The good news is that both candidates for governor have offered plans for public schools. I've studied both plans closely, and I've concluded that Terry McAufful has the better plan to raise student achievement." That's it?  A better plan to raise student achievement gobbledygook?  I fear Virginia is about to be Obama'd.   And I will have lost my escape hatch. ”

Obama's Virginia Defeat Democrats were trounced in Tuesday's state legislature election, despite the president's heavy investment of time in the state.

“ Mr. Obama was the first Democrat to win Virginia since 1964; he beat John McCain by seven percentage points; and he did so on the strength of his appeal to Northern Virginia's many white-collar independents. Along with victories in North Carolina, Colorado and Nevada, the Obama Old Dominion win in 2008 inspired a flurry of stories about how Democrats had forever altered the political map. Virginia Republicans added seven new seats to their majority in the House of Delegates, giving them two-thirds of that chamber's votes—the party's largest margin in history. The GOP also took over the Virginia Senate in results that were especially notable, given that Virginia Democrats this spring crafted an aggressive redistricting plan that had only one aim: providing a firewall against a Republican takeover of that chamber. Even that extreme gerrymander didn't work. Every Republican incumbent—52 in the House, 15 in the Senate—won.  [FULL] I stated before my opinion that Virginia has the best government in the union. They are conservatives who ran as conservatives;  and govern as conservatives.  This latest result then is no surprise.  What is surprising is the GOP's insistence on favoring old guard moderates at every turn.
