Dr

Limbaugh and Double Standards

watched a game on TV- wins Heisman

It really does no good to complain about Liberal outrages anymore.  I have a friend who gets Newsweek, and bristles at my contention that it's  leftist agitprop.  ("They cover both sides equally!").  So, in a very real sense the nation has two languages now, with one group unable to communicate with the other.  Belay that.  Conservatives cannot escape hearing, and reading, the left's version of things, such is the death grip Liberals have on the media.   Still, the NFL's rejection of Limbaugh's bid to buy the Rams pisses me off.   You know what's coming don't you?  That's right.  Another example of Liberal hypocrisy.

One day after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell noted the NFL's "high standards" and expressed concern about "divisive" language hurting the league, Rush Limbaugh was dropped from a group of investors looking to buy the St. Louis Rams. Goodell's comments followed similar remarks from DeMaurice Smith, new head of the NFL players association and a lawyer who worked on the Obama transition.

Now that Goodell has asserted himself as the arbiter of acceptable political speech for the NFL, perhaps he'll take another look at Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson, singer for the Black Eyed Peas. As we noted yesterday, one of the group's most popular songs is "Let's Get Retarded." And one reader points out, in the lyrics to the song "Where's the Love," the U.S. government includes "terrorists" just like the ones we're trying to stop overseas, and the CIA is like a street gang:

Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin'
In the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK

The NFL voted to allow Fergie to become part owner of the Miami Dolphins earlier this week. So it's not really "divisive" speech that troubles the NFL, apparently, but a certain kind of "divisive" speech.

As noted, there is a standard at work here, but it's not a high one.[Weekly Standard]

Perhaps, Rush should have told Donovan that he was going to shove a tennis ball down his throat. The NFL has no problem with Serena owning a portion of the Dolphins.

Whose trophy is he stealing there?

now let's see here, Mike "Mad Dog" Vick can play in this league of high standards but a true patriot cannot participate as an investor...stupid is as stupid does.

It's rather ironic that Georgia Frontierre inherited the Rams from her husband, the late Carroll Rosenbloom.

Quite the merry widow, she remarried 2 months after Rosenbloom's mysterious drowning death in South Florida.

Rosenbloom was a known heavy gambler and had a dispute with Pete Rozell about his gambling several decades ago.

He had penchant for betting heavily on college football games, but whether he did so on pro games is an unsettled matter.

If that were not enough, Rosenbloom also purchased an interest in the Hotel Nacionale, a Havanna casino, from mobster Meyer Lansky shortly before Castro's takeover of Cuba on January 1, 1959 and his subsequent closing of the casinos.

He gambled and lost.

So, God forbid that the Rams should fall into the hands of someone of questionable repute.

I used to be a Dolphins fan, but I can't pull for anyone owned by Fergie and Serena Williams.

RUSH NEEDS TO BUY A NASCAR TEAM AND LEAVE THIS BORING SPORT TO THE PC CROWD WHO CONTROL IT.

I gave up on the National Thuggery and Spoiled Brat Football League years ago.
I wonder how many of Rush's 20 million audience will now dump their season tickets and turn off the TV on Sundays?
I hope a whole bunch do.

Sunday afternoons are for shooting, not watching punks in leotards and body armor slap each others' butts.
Rush should take up Combat shooting IDPA. stop watching sports and start doing sports.
