Hide it, and don't talk about it

Gold
I take no position on buying gold, except this.  If you're going to buy it,
TAKE PHYSICAL POSSESSION !

Yep.

A gold based IRA can still be seized or taxed into nothing by state fiat.

Don't think they won't grab at them if the US ever follows Zimbabwe down the financial sewer.

I would add "bury it" to your recommendation.

Already done ;-) I've had (a relative small amount of) physical gold for the 10 years or so.

I am sure that there must be vault space for rent at bargain prices in the gold depository at Fort Knox.

However, under no circumstances should you store gold in bank lock boxes located in the New York Federal Reserve region which is headed by union thug Denis Hughes.

Damn it, Rog, will you please change the rollover in the header. I forget every time and have to look up O'Bama's dress - because my cursor naturally moves right over it after clicking on Curmudgeonly and suddenly I am feeling nauseous. Again.

Put some pictures of rotting corpses or doody or maggots - anything but that.

Please.

given that a thousand dollar golden eager would look like a bottlt top on the edge of that pallet, that is one nice family fortune there.

I'm nervous about gold. Didn't Roosevelt outlaw private ownership? See "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Order_6102". I'm sure Obama wouldn't hesitate.
I like real silver coins. They are legal currency. He might have more trouble with that.
I also like ammo and alcohol. That way, there's no downside if things turn out OK.

I like the new pop-up

Roosevelt outlawed gold bullion ... and it all got either hidden, stored in Canada, traded for old US gold coins, or 24k gold jewelry that just happened to consist of 10th ounce gold chain links.

Pre-1934 US gold coins have no reporting requirement, provided you keep purchases from one dealer under $10k.

Gold is a pretty good trade good.
Remember, in a SHTF situation things of value will be things that are needed.

That explains the brand new Glocks (and 100 rounds of ammo each) piling up inn the gun safe.

Captain-Zer0 got Gold in the form of a Nobel Peace Prize?????

Its now official--a Nobel means Zer0!

Yeah just saw the cipher won the nobel....figures. I knew it was a sham and now I have proof. This asshole will never amount to shit and we know it - he knows it and his sycophants do as well - or they should. F-em all. Have no use for liberals.

Does anybody else here listen to Quinn and Rose out of PA? I get it on WPGB.com feed. I love them and Jim Quinn is no fan of the cipher.

In my e-mail this morning, there were two e-mails from the WSJ news service.

--Obama gets Nobel Peace prize.
--Suicide car bomb kills 41, wounds 100 in Pakistan.

Of course, there is nothing more likely to lead to war in the Middle East than withdrawing U.S. discipline from the region.

Leftists like the Nobel committee are perversely stupid, if not downright evil.
