I think the guy is plenty likable. I've seen him on Red Eye and stuff, and he seems like an ok guy. But yeah...A real out there, facts don't matter, strap up the straitjacket guy.

I saw this confrontation, between Ed Begley and Stuart Varney (filling in for Cavuto), yesterday. I really like Varney. As an Ex-Euroweenie he knows what's coming. He's also unafraid to "challenge" (i.e. call them moron's) his guests. Right after this interview he took on some other libtard.

My husband went to high school... Taft High, Woodland Hills California...with Ed Begley in the late 60's. He was adopted by his actor father Ed Begley senior and his wife, and was a problem child and problem student as well. My husband, Ed, and two other friends used to hang out as they were somewhat impressed with Begley's star persona. His dad bought him a brand new Mustang, and Begley would drive down the street swerving from side to side bouncing off the curbs....cool huh? His dad tried to get him a job working on the sound stage after high school, but he ran off and married some black girl. Later he got stabbed outside the Forum (where the Lakers used to play), in Inglewood, by a group of black guys. His love for the "environment" aparently came to him later in life.....hmmmmm.

We conservatives really need to work on one thing. We have to realize that we are the only sane people in the world and virtually everyone who opposes us are religious zealots. No matter how much the left protests that their positions are "factually based", no facts can ever touch their beliefs because there are no facts behind them. Thus they are, by definition, religious. There is no point in trying to persuade them of anything - it can't be done.
We have to deal with liberals the same way we deal with Islamic extremists. Both religions dictate that they destroy everything we value and kill everyone of us. There is no way to negotiate with or persuade such a viewpoint. A quick look through twentieth century history will tell you that whenever the left gains control there are only two results - extreme poverty and mass murder. The only way to deal with the left is to force them back into the arts where they can do some good. Their twisted little minds become unbelievably vicious when dealing with the real world and it's annoying facts and natural laws.
If they could just admit that liberalism is a religion, they just might begin to be able to separate that from practical applications, and thus become sane. But they can never do that because a major tenant of the Church of Liberalism is that they must never, ever admit their faith. They must never question their own views. They must have absolute faith that their views are based in "fact" even though there aren't any. That is why their fall back position is always "everybody knows". It's what makes them so smug. They just make their pronouncements and all nod sagely at such wizdumb. Who needs facts when you can achieve your goals with emotional appeals?
Ed Begley earns our respect because, unlike the rest of his ilk, he works very diligently at not being a hypocrite, but he is still a religious zealot and should be treated as such. We shouldn't put him on tv and pretend that his religious views are anything other than that.
