RE:Perry 4 President

Something about mary

I found this on a liberal Texas blog.  I don't know what to think about Rick Perry running for President.  The third picture, in my opinion, depicts Rick Perry accurately--showboater.

Mary, I applauded Perry for refusing Obamaulus money, and then for his threat to assert Texas sovereignty, as granted by the Constitution, against unlawful mandates from the feds.  So this is a good excuse to repost Judge Napolitano's caveat about state leaders like Perry.  If he has substance, now is the time for showing it with some direct action.
It’s one thing, Alex, for a state legislature and a Governor to sign a piece of paper saying that we stand on our tenth amendment and we are a sovereign state. It would be quite another for a state legislator to enact legislation that did the following: Prohibit state employees from enforcing federal law, indict federal officials who come into the state with the intention of enforcing federal law that conflicts with state law, impose a real estate tax on federal property within the state -  now I know that that has been unlawful for the past two hundred years but suffice it to say we have a different supreme court now that might look at this differently - drag before county and state grand juries federal officers who insist on enforcing federal law that is unconstitutional within the states. The states really have to stand up for their sovereignty. They have to do more than say we are a sovereign state. There has to be teeth to their proclamation of sovereignty. - Judge Napolitano on the Alex Jones radio program (03/25/2010):

The Texas Legislature meets for 90 days every other year.

The 82nd (next) regular session is scheduled for Jan 11, 2011 - May 30, 2011.

A special session can be called, but is rarely done so except when politically expedient.

U.S. Senator Kay Bailey came down from Washington with the endorsement of the Washington Republican establishment up there and a team of experienced Washington political campaign operatives. They were pretty confident they could overcome the limited resources of a Hick like Perry. However Perry had established a low key but permanent campaign research group of some pretty smart people they found out that what a lot of conventional campaign techniques that were espoused either didn't work, were poorly timed, or gave very poor value for the buck. Perry and his people massacred Hutchison and her group in the primaries. There is a Texas tradition of playing the good ol boy and lulling Yankees into complacency for business reasons. Now it is being used for political theater.

Actually, I believe that Texas has the unilateral right to withdraw from the US under the treaty that it signed with us back in the 1800s.

I certainly like what I see of Perry, a lot more than what I see of some of the other Lilliputians who have "R" after their names, look attractive (if you like Beta males) and are the subject of speculation about 2012.

The best assertion of the 10th Amendment is the statute which several states have enacted which permits firearms manufacturers to make weapons which don't comply with the 1934 Federal Firearms Act if such weapons do not leave their state of origin.

Congress believes that ANYTHING IT ENACTS involves interstate commerce because they enact it.

They ignore their oaths to support and defend the US Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Time to send them packing and then vote to de-fund their pensions in 2011.

How many people do YOU know that get a pension after working for SIX years?

The House and Senate were not meant to be CAREER positions. Remove pensions, health care, seniority powers and they'll run back home like the cockroaches they are. [subistitute names you like, I have a mental list of about a dozen or more D's that need some railroad tie riding practice and new clothing made of tar and feathers...] Not that there is anything wrong with being a D 'cept you gotta be stupid and base all your values upon 'feelings...'
