  SANCTE PATER:
John Paul II's 1979 'Novena'

VATICAN CITY — Nine Days That Changed the World, a new movie produced by recent Catholic convert Newt Gingrich and his wife, Callista, is a compelling biopic of Pope John Paul II, powerfully showing the importance and relevance of the Catholic faith to freedom and democracy.

USA for the point. If that ref did that hose call to any other team in the tournament, or most especially, to any other team from Africa, he'd be a dead man.
I'm from Cleveland, that's not the worst call I've ever seen. Consider the Novena said.

USA!!! USA!!! USA!;!

Reminded me of what I detest about soccer - the human interface. How often have I seen a careless, and sometimes intentional, call that undoes a valiant effort on the field, which this was? Too many times, that's what.
