Newtralizing-Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi: Romney won't be president
Nancy Pelosi: Newt won't be president

“
Newtralizing-Pelosi

Washed-up shrew and ex-Speaker Nancy Pelosi is back making news. First time since guaranteeing her Democrats would keep control of the House  in 2010.  Ahem.  And WOW!  It appears she's trying to keep the Republican Party from doing itself harm—  by nominating the wrong person!  Someone unelectable. After Newt's surprising win in the South Carolina primary,  Pelosi adamantly stated:

“ He's not going to be President of the United States. That's not going to happen. Let me just make my prediction and stand by it, it isn't going to happen. There is something I know. The Republicans, if they choose to nominate him that's their prerogative. I don't even think that's going to happen.
”

Like you, I'm wondering what she could possibly know about Newt that could be so damaging?  Just off the top of my head, I offer these five possibilities.  She knows that ...
  1. ....  a 19-year-old English woman said Newt sexually assaulted (raped) her after she met him at a pub near the Oxford University in 1969
  2. ....  in 1978 Newt raped another woman in an Arkansas hotel room
  3. ....  far from being the college professor he claims to have been, Newt won't release any document that proves he even graduated from kindergarten
  4. ....  Speaker, Newt  "earmarked " funds that enriched his wife.
  5. ....  In 1996, Speaker Newt certified Bob Dole (as a presidential candidate)  in spite of the fact that the Kansas Republican Party refused to  certify him, thus committing fraud.
Let's hope it's none of those things.  Nobody could possibly overcome such scandal. No Republican anyway.

On the other hand ...

“
America, you hire Newt Gingrich, if you run Newt Gingrich R A, you’re going to lose the election. But if you if you go for Newt Gingrich and he strangely does win the election, come what may. It’s on your head. It’s on your head. ....But I’m telling you this guy is a progressive. ... Do you remember when I told you that there’s going to come a time when the progressives, somebody’s going to want to grab the pendulum. Well, we have the conditions that are being sown right now. And the pendulum is going to stop, possibly... [Glenn Beck]

Newt - My Take

Ugh

(Roll Over Horrid Newt)

I'm not sure how I feel about Newt winning South Carolina, but it's not terrible.  What I find most gratifying is how and why he won it.  By energizing  the conservative base when he slammed John King for opening the last debate with a question about his wife.  The crowd went wild; the video went viral.  Sarah Palin immediately sensed it, saying his performance would help him" “soar even more”

It was Ronald Reagan asserting
"This is my microphone, I paid for it" during the Nashua primary debate in 1980, (a line  purloined from Spencer Tracy in "State Of The Union," when his character was about to be cut off in debate.  A defining moment for Reagan.

It was Vice President Spiro Agnew during a
televised speech in 1969, calling  the press "nattering nabobs of negativism" and war critics  "an effete corps of impudent snobs who characterize themselves as 'intellectuals.'"  America went nuts, and the press ducked for cover.

This is vintage 1992 Newt, going for the throat of a corrupt Democrat House of Representatives.  He was unparalleled.  I only hope he, if elected, doesn't become 1994 Newt, all coiffed, gushy, and wanting to be loved by everyone.Or, God forbid, 2010 Newt, who promoted man caused global warming with Nancy Pelosi (stab me in the liver).

Aside- Speaking of the movie "State of the Union," here's the speech every politician could, and should, make tomorrow. We'd all be better for it.

Newt KOs King

                                                                             SMARMY MEDIA COMEUPPANCES

NEWT by K.O. — 2:51 in the first round

“

Of course the acid test is, would John King have opened in a similar vein with Bill Clinton?  Here, I applaud Newt.  I just wish he had been so straightforward when it came to, say, global warming— because like the rest of this lot he knew it was a fraud. John King had it within him be Brit Hume-ish  at one point in his career.  Shows what happens when you hang out with scoundrels too long.

Oh Ann ... .

I see Annie's underpants
there's a soiled spot!

“

I see Annie's underpants

I love Ann Coulter because she's been a pit bull in a ring of go along-get along, weak spined, Republican leaning media pussies.   True, more and more I've found myself occupying polar opposite positions on strategy, but that's okay. With the exception of Obama's COLB (where she presented none), Ann bolsters her positions with sound and reasoned argument.   But, I am more than a bit surprised by tactics  used in  her attack on Newt this week.  I'm disappointed, actually.

(During the House ethics investigation of Gingrich, he produced notes in which he reminds himself to "allow expression of warm/smiling/softer side.")

After Gingrich had been speaker for a brief two years, the Republican House voted 395-28 to reprimand him and fine him $300,000 for ethics violations.

(Sen. Bob Dole loaned Gingrich the money in what was called the first instance of an airbag being saved by a person.)

That ethics committee ruling was another case of Republicans, led by Rep. Jennifer Dunn (R WA). bowing to media pressure, and finding Newt guilty of a trumped up Democrat charge involving taxes and his television history course.  He was later found innocent of the charges by the IRS, a fact that to this day has gone unreported by the airwaves media.

To put a finer point on the era's :Ethics Committee conduct, Dick Gerhardt was simultaneously being investigated for what amounted to real estate fraud and tax evasion.  He was cited for lying to the committee three times, but let of f with a slap on the wrist.  Ann Coulter is aware of these facts, but chose to take the low road. It wasn't necessary, as her other insights attest (IMO).  I too would rather have Romney or whats-his-name over Newt, but criminal behavior is not one of Newt's weaknesses.

Barbara Boxer, 'nuff said, ....

GREEN CRAP

Sen. Boxer to climate-change deniers: ‘You are endangering humankind’

Sigh
Barbara Boxer Clears Her Throat

“ “The message I have for climate deniers is this: you are endangering humankind,” Boxer said during a press conference in the Capitol. “It is time for climate deniers to face reality, because the body of evidence is overwhelming and the world’s leading scientists agree.”

What can one add anymore when addressing this carbuncled twat?  If anything happens to Patty Murray, Boxer will have exclusive claim to "Dumbest Senator."  The game is over you miserable crone!   In fact, the AGW argument has been so transparently a contrivance of political fascists that anyone who EVER embraced and promoted it, EVER, ought be proscribed from holding any position that demands clear thinking.

What's that?

Oh my.  I forgot that the two GOP front runners ... joined Boxer ... .  Ahem.  Newt's promise yesterday to make John Bolton Sec/State is awfully, awfully enticing.  But how can we be assured that he is really of sound mind and judgment in other critical areas?  Sigh.

a crone babbles on ...

Pelosi plans to reveal information about Gingrich 'when the time is right'

“ House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is holding back some information on Republican Newt Gingrich that could detract from his presidential campaign, according to a report published Monday.

“One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich,”
Pelosi told
Talking Points Memo. “When the time is right. … I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”

[THE HILL]

Artist-TORMENTADEPEDOS
Of course she does, but I smell desperation from this washed-up crone.  The"right time" to release damaging information about  Republicans  is after the nomination is secured; and the information doesn't have to be accurate, only juicy enough to sell to the proletariat. I am surprised that congressional democrats had a " committee to investigate"  Newt.  And, surised that that there can now  be anything left to throw at him  after those 1995 to 1999 temper tantrums (when he was Speaker). At this point, I don't think Pelosi, now the most despised women in America, even by democrats, could say anything we'd care about. (Unless it's that he goes to bed with a stuffed FDR doll?)

Newt Mesmerizes - But ...

NEWT AT HIS FINEST

“
smibsid
I'm still able to be mesmerized by Newt's ideas and rhetoric.  Unfortunately, in my view he's part of the GOP establishment who sabotaged Sarah Pain and now Herman Cain. Yes, the GOP,  in partnership with the DNC.  Newt is at heart a believer in government - BIG government.  Here's a clip from today's Classic Liberal; ideas that are compatible with my own.  Teaparty Caves-in

Newt Gingrich in a Nutshell

ABC News and Yahoo sponsored a round of interviews with the Republican presidential candidates earlier this month. Here's Newt's response when he was asked what other graven image he thought should adorn Mount Rushmore.

Who should be the fifth president on Mount Rushmore?

Gingrich: I'll go for five and six: F.D.R. and Reagan.

Yes, you read that correctly. Newt Gingrich wants to honor Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the very man whom the modern conservative movement rose to fight against. See: FDR and the Collectivist Wave.

Ommmmmmmmm

Ommmmmmmmm
Until daddy's medicine wears off , boys and girls, today will be spent celebrating the good things in life.  Like  this.  The GOP-led House voted to block funding to implement the nation's health care law. Specifically -
Meditating Pup
  1. voted to prohibit any funds be used by the Internal Revenue Service to carry out the law's mandate that Americans buy health insurance.
  2. baned the Labor and Health and Human Services Departments from spending any money for the rest of fiscal year 2011 on the health care law.
  3. banned the government from paying the salaries of any federal employee involved in implementing the health care law. [proof]
PLUS-
  1. passed an amendment Thursday that would bar the Federal Communications Commission from using any funding to implement the network-neutrality order it approved in December.[proof]
”
The attempt to block funding is part of a must-pass spending bill to keep the government running past March 4.  Obama has threatened to veto this budget.  Government will shut down.  In the past (1995), Bill Clinton cut a back-room deal with the federal employee union (AFSCME) guaranteeing workers would publicly blame, and heap scorn upon Newt's House Republicans, and not him.  Of course the media were there to capture all the sob stories about missed opportunities to snow-mobile in Yellowstone and see the Air-Space museum.  Big Government nicely explains what to expect.  This will be so fun - if our guys play it right.  Boehnor doesn't have the mettle, but Teapartiers seem to be holding sway, so far.

NEWT WITS

Buncha Newtwits
“ “We are not going to deport 11 million people,” Gingrich said Thursday as he kicked off his first forum on Latino issues. “There has to be some zone between deportation and amnesty.”  Newt keeping high-flying Republicans grounded in reality.

May be compared to ...
The US will not use nuclear
weapons ... even if attacked
with biological or chemical weapons!

Captain Stupid Hunch
Way to negotiate numb-nuts

When in American history have so many pols failed to understand what real people tried to pound into their thick skulls?  What makes them think we want to be grounded? - and what does that mean? I have questions for  Newt:

ME
NEWT
What if we really want to expel illegal aliens?  Is it smart to begin the debate by saying "We Won't"
People need to be grounded in reality.
"Reality?"
It's not practical
Says Who?
Everybody with sense
Like Michael Chertoff?
There will be exceptions
Like the 81% of actual citizens who agree with what he said?
They don't understand the logistics involved, or the consequences.
Consequences?
We need outreach to Latino voters
By being unprincipled?
You've been listening to too many Teaparty crazies.
You're considering a run for president in 2012.  I'm wondering.  Is it that you know, like John McCain did in 2008, that you have zero chance of getting conservative support, and like McCain must pander to the Democrat Media Complex so they engineer your nomination ?
Did you know that our air traffic control radar still uses vacuum tubes ....

Those brilliant democrats.

Lessons from Bill
Clinton outfoxed a Republican Congress, but is Obama as nimble?
“

Just a week after Election Day, Henry Cisneros, then secretary of housing and urban development, was among those attending a small meeting at the White House. “The president was livid,” recalled Cisneros. “Frustrated. Angry beyond words . . . But in that same conversation came the beginnings of a concept, which was, if it’s going to be ugly, you may as well make it a showdown between yourself and Gingrich . . . Let it be a test of ideas.”

The White House adopted a new terminology. “Over and over again,” recalls Mike McCurry, then White House press secretary, “we used the words ‘radical’ and ‘extreme’ interchangeably to discuss the priorities of the new Republican leadership in Congress.” [full]

Clinton outfoxed Republicans? - There was no FOX

In a nutshell, here's how Democrats "won" the last two major budget show-downs with Republicans, and what promises to be another in 2011.

1990
1995
        2011
The Trigger
Bush-41 invokes his "Read My Lips-No New Taxes" campaign promise.  Refuses to sign Democrat budget w/ tax increase.
Led by Speaker Gingrich, congress presents budget that cuts taxes and spending.                New Teaparty  congress moves to undo Obama's radical legislation.
Democrat Response
AFSCME assures Democrats that union will scream bloody murder if Bush shuts down government.

The culprit. George Bush who was forced by his own advisers to cave.
AFSCME assures Clinton that union will keep silent if he calls Newt's bluff and shuts-down government.

The culprit: Newt Gingrich. Only informed citizens hate Clinton's guts.
Obamunists discuss building concentration camps behind closed doors; publicly call new congress Nazi-like (really)
President's popularity What Gulf War? Who cares? Newt Gingrich is the anti-Christ Where's that Muslum sob's birth certificate?

How Sarah Barracuda Becomes President

President Palin

This NEW YORK magazine article,  2012: How Sarah Barracuda Becomes President, has much to recommended it.   Let's start by using it to answer a question Josh asked after I dissed John Boehner as the next speaker: "What's wrong with Boehner?"

“ All those guys, they could try and turn it up and have the fervor, but voters are gonna read through it,” says Dowd. “It’s just not authentic to them, because they’ve been part of the Washington scene or taking part in state politics, where they cut deals and made compromises—which is part of governing but lethal in this environment.

That assessment was aimed at establishment guys (Romney. et.al.) running for president, but it applies to Boehner as well.  In this regard John Heilemann displays an understanding of the Teaparty that few others have displayed.  He notes that in any other year Mitt Romney would be the GOP's  designated (can you say John McCain) candidate, but "his favorability among conservative voters is just 30 percent."

“ The reasons are myriad, but paramount among them is his role in enacting a health-care law in Massachusetts that bears a striking similarity to the controversial (and loathed on the right) federal overhaul that Democrats passed this year.

Others are similarly dismissed in a Teaparty environment:
  • Pawlenty is an erstwhile liberal on climate change;
  • Huckabee is widely written off because he lacks the capacity to raise big cash and his appeal is limited to Evangelicals
  • We Republicans are so desperate for an ideas guy like Newt Gingrich that sometimes we even turn to Newt Gingrich, ... “[But] he is not a serious candidate for president.
  • [Texas Gov. Rick] Perry’s a hero to Second Amendment zealots and shit-kickers alike. But Perry hasn’t given the slightest public indication that he’s interested in running, and even if he did get in, he might well prove no match for Palin in the anti-Establishment tier.
How will the Establishment candidates cope with [Palin the candidate]? “The first thing it does is completely freaks them out ... And the hard part is, it’s going to be difficult for them to go after her, because she’s so popular [within the party] - Segue Bloomberg factor - in a nutshell.

“ Moderate Republicans would rebel and turn to someone with business acumen - Bloomberg.  Running as a third-party candidate, he siphons off New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, and California. Denying Obama those states.

... with Palin holding the fire-engine-red states of the South, and the president might find himself short of the 270 electoral votes necessary to win.

Assuming you still remember the basics from American Government 101, you know what would happen next: The election would be thrown to the House of Representatives—which, after November 2, is likely to be controlled by the Republicans. The result: Hello, President Palin!

There are plenty of  liberal laugh lines that leak through, but while I won't be putting money on this scenario right now, it's a very good effort.

Waling and gnashing of teeth

Crybamababy

Boned Jello

In 1995 Air Force One headed home with American dignitaries who attended the funeral of assassinated Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.  President Clinton, more intent on getting head from one of his flying bimbos (Eleanor Mondale was a favorite) I suppose, put Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole in the rear luggage compartment, never speaking to them.   Upon landing Newt commented on it, obviously piqued.  One hundred and sixty-eight thousand gallons of ink were used over the next  weeks by the media, calling Newt a cry baby.  They later claimed Newt used it as an excuse to "shutdown" the gummint in a budget battle.   Remember?

TODAY
“ Mr. Obama .. used Monday’s appearance here to deliver a hearty defense of his policies and take a few whacks at Republicans. “They talk about me like a dog,” the president said. “That’s not in my prepared remarks, but it’s true.” And Mr. Obama repeatedly referred to the House Republican leader, Representative John Boehner, as “the man who wants to be speaker.”  [here]
”

Poor Baby.  But I doubt they talk about him like a dog.  People like dogs.

Iranian Media Says French
First Lady Deserves Death

John Kusak Says Armey, Newt
-and all the GOP Deserves Death

I feel sorta bad here. Except for two words ("French" and "Armey)" I was feeling,  well, you know.  Oh stop!  It was involuntary.

Anyway, after what Hollywood did to Mel Gibson for his, mild in comparison, "ravings,"  I guess Joan Kusak's brother won't be able to buy a hello from movieland's glitterati.  They're a fiercely righteous bunch, those entertainment folks; all "duty, honor and country first" sorts, and don't tolerate behavior like this.

What I worry about is someone from the left assassinating Kusak, and trying to make it look like conservatives did it.  You know, like they did burning their own offices and such.  That sure would be a nasty trick (that would prolly succeed and allow the Democrats to pick up seats in the election), so I hope they don't "do" him. </disgust>
