Newt KOs King

                                                                             SMARMY MEDIA COMEUPPANCES

NEWT by K.O. — 2:51 in the first round

Of course the acid test is, would John King have opened in a similar vein with Bill Clinton?  Here, I applaud Newt.  I just wish he had been so straightforward when it came to, say, global warming— because like the rest of this lot he knew it was a fraud. John King had it within him be Brit Hume-ish  at one point in his career.  Shows what happens when you hang out with scoundrels too long.

I beg to differ. King has always been a smarmy git, and Newt has always held the seeds of greatness. Perfection of humanity is an entirely different subject than selecting a political leader. I'll roll the dice with Newt any day.

I didn't get that impression early on when he was doing AP's political coverage (late 80's). But then I wasn't as attuned to smarminess then as I now am so I'll defer to your judgement.

I think you nailed the head with a hit, Rodger. The only relevant point with these issues is how important are they when directed at a Donk like Clinton or Edwards. The only time the MSM has a sensible take on these issues is when it involves a Donk. "This has no bearing on his ability to function as President."

This is one of Newt's winning points that he doesn't take any BS from the Media. I like Newt in spite of all his warts. I would happily vote for him over Obama with this bit of advice: Beware of compromise. When you compromise with evil you end up sitting on a couch with Nancy Pelosi.

Thanks for posting this, Rodge.

I have taken leave of the debates for the last several weeks, because I don't like drama or cattle calls.

But this was a bitch-slapping if ever I have seen one.

I think that all of the blood in King's body flushed into his face.

This is why watching Newt is so much fun.

He is the smartest person in the room by at least 40 IQ points and he has backbone.

Agreed. Now all you gotta do is figure out who's side he's on. Good luck with that.
