Tortl Law Asses

Code Red Watchlist:

Boned Jello
One day I was using my cell phone's GPS service to find the nearest Target. I was driving down the road when suddenly my cell phone piped up, "Turn right here." I looked to the right. There was no road, just a tree and some grass. I chalked it up to a GPS glitch and turned right at the next corner.

If I had been Lauren Rosenberg, however, I would have turned right at that very moment, hit the tree, suffered some cuts and minor brain damage, and then turned around and sued Verizon for the glitch in its GPS service.

Seriously.
[I am not making this up]

I never use a GPS to navigate. I learned how to do it without one, and don't intend to change.

Last Christmas, my brother was in town, and we went to see our aunt in Timonium. He had the address, and tried to enter it into his GPS. It didn't work. After consulting a map, we realized that she might be in this imaginary town called "Lutherville-Timonium". Once we tried that, it worked.

Just yesterday my GPS told me to turn when there was no road., there was a road on the GPS map. I went straight, the GPS map changed, (no road) announced "re-calculating".
I once made a POI to mark where my car was in a parking lot so I could find it when I returned. Later in the day I mapped to my car, the route had me walk past my car around the much larger block, up the next street and back around to my car.
They screw up. I have had them take me on some wild routes, I have had them take me on better routes on what I would take. The most important element in the car is still the driver.

My garmin GPS on my Hewescraft showed that I was cruising along at 30 knots 30 feet on shore.
My Tom Tom in my Expedition told me to take a right turn which would have been over a 200 foot drop in to a glacial river. How did I manage to survive such perils...

The stuff is designed by liberals who think man needs to be made extinct, so htey program in these features, not glitches, to help thin the population. Problem is the only ones who buy it are libs, so it does not reduce the population by much, given that libs kill their young, or are gay/ lesbian and therefore do not reproduce. Such a waste.

I'm actually very keen on everything GPS, love it. Dickweed, that's a great idea, to POI your car and take the unit with you. Might I add, grab your cell phone/camera, and take a picture or two? I've done that, and it does help.
