The World's First Rock & Roll Song ...
"That's All Right Obama?"

This song came out in September 1946 as a rockabilly piece with a blues melody line over top, and may contain the first guitar solo break, and, as a remake, became one of Elvis' first singles.

Thermite Turkey

30 Second Turkey
Our son Hucker and his family host family Thanksgiving every year.  He  makes the best turkey known to man.  I know you think you know someone else who has that distinction, but you'd be mistaken.  That said, his turkey is very labor intensive; what with basting every 15 minutes for the duration (he began at 5:30 AM today).  Anyway, while going to someone else's  home for Thanksgiving means no work, and no clean-up  if you leave after dessert ("we have to feed/walk/bury the dog/cat/finch'), the downside is - no turkey leftovers.  Tonight I'll be working on some stuffing; in the morning I'll go to Food Lion and buy a turkey.  A minute after getting home we should be scarfing down some nice turkey sammiches.  I'll let you know.

Another Birther Case

If any court hears the merits of the case it will
mark the "death knell" for Obama's legitimacy.

WASHINGTON – Is this the case that will break the presidential eligibility question wide open?

Birther Proud
The Supreme Court conferred today on whether arguments should be heard on the merits of Kerchner v. Obama, a case challenging whether President Barack Obama is qualified to serve as president because he may not be a "natural-born citizen" as required by Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution.

Unlike other eligibility cases that have reached the Supreme Court, Kerchner vs. Obama focuses on the "Vattel theory," which argues that the writers of the Constitution believed the term "natural-born citizen" to mean a person born in the United States to parents who were both American citizens.

"This case is unprecedented," said Mario Apuzzo, the attorney bringing the suit. "I believe we presented an ironclad case. We've shown standing, and we've shown the importance of the issue for the Supreme Court. There's nothing standing in their way to grant us a writ of certiorari."

If the Supreme Court decides to grant the "writ of certiorari," it may direct a federal trial court in New Jersey to hear the merits of the case, or it may choose to hear the merits itself. The court's decision on the writ could be announced as early as Wednesday.

If any court hears the merits of the case, Apuzzo says it will mark the "death knell" for Obama's legitimacy.

We will see what we will see, but two observations.
  1. "Oh, you mean both parents?" A ruling against Obama based on the "Vattel theory" gives "conservatives" and other antis a face-saving excuse to become birthers.
  2. MoSup is convinced that this issue was one of the scenarios alluded to by Joe Biden during this cryptic warning.

La Femme Conservatives
Last night I watched for the first time La Femme Nikita.   It was très embiggening (glayvin).  The first thing this morning, before making pecan pie,  I enrolled MoSup in the Barn Army martial arts class.  It's the sole remaining discipline she must master before earning her La Femme MoSup tee-shirt.  But wait! Just now I stumbled upon M Eratosthenes's   Liberal Men Are Wimps Who Can’t Handle a Real Woman (and instead fall back on the denial-defense mechanism of pointing that finger at conservatives).  Cosmic.
