Chris Cristie at AEI

HEAL!
(I'm laying hands on you)
[In the good way]

Chris Christie- C-SPAN 3

Earlier I watched Chris Cristie's address to the American Enterprise Institute on C-Span3 [Video].  Somewhere about midpoint in his 30 minute address (+30 minutes Q&A),  I realize:d that this is prolly the first time in over 30 years that I listened to a politician talk about anything, and not once get the feeling of being gamed, not even  just a little. Christie is of course a great speaker.  He's also funny as hell, utterly guileless, brilliant, and a man with a plan.  In these times when all of us, I mean everyone of us, is looking for something to hang onto, something to believe in, this is  something.    Give yourself 5 minutes of "quiet time" and listen.  I doubt  many of you will turn it off.  It's medicinal, and fun. HEAL!

The few questionable things that Gov Christie has committed is smothered by his economic common sense and plain speaking.

He gets it

The lack of strong GOP candidates for the 2012 presidential race has been well-noted. How do we get Gov. Christie to run? His talent is wasted in the Garden State.

I don't trust him and those "questionable things" he professes makes all his good old boy home grown common sense questionalble. He'a like a flag flying homosexual & conservative or a patriotic Democrat. There aint' no such animal. "Meet the new boss" boys.

I think Christie supports tougher gun control.

The only person in the media spotlight who has not said anything that really, truly makes me think their positions are hopless for a freedom loving people is Sarah.

We have an American architype that fits her perfectly, Annie Oakley. She should play it up. When the TV "sophisticates" try to make her look ignorant she should say, don;t know much about how yo do it in the lower 40 but it seems that you have messed things up and need some common sense to save your bacon right about now.

You're my hero Rodge so I'd go with you in a heartbeat but the fact is when you ax that question I got noth'n. Just like everybody else I know and trust, I'm waiting for the Man and I haven't seen him yet....

His gun problem is a problem. Unfortunate, since any change in stance will reek of pandering. Sigh. Not a deal breaker, but a big-big hurdle.

Leave him where he is. By New Jersey standards he is a conservative - maybe he can drag them away from the brink.

For now his liberal "questionables" can't hurt him in New Jersey where draconian police state policies are the norm. But on the national stage he would be a disaster for conservatives

I'm willing to go with anyone who is part of the charge across the lawn at 1600 PA Ave.

Right, he is good for NJ. Gawd we elected that horsey woman and she had a mandate and she cleaned up no corruption putting a Dem in after her.

Never attribute a politican's positions that you do not approve of to "necessity". I did that with W; everyone said secretly he was Regan not George Herbert Walker. Those were just unfounded wishfull thoughts. W as pretty close to O. Both exist because Regan needed a east coast liberal R to make a coalition. And I don;t even like R so much if you really dig, just better than anthing else.

I'm really starting to like Governor Scott down here in Florida. He's trying to do what he said he would do.Of course if he had beaten a kitten to death with a baby I still would have voted for him over the democrat, but it's nice to see he's actually trying.

I'm still a Mitt supporter, but it may be a time to take a look at Mitch Daniels. Meantime, it is marvelous to see what the various governors of New Mexico, New Jersey, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Florida are doing. I especially love the latter three shoving the high-speed rail money down Obama's throat.

Keep an eye on Gov. Scott Walker in Wisconsin over the next few days.
The public sector unions are going to hit him with everything they've got. Several schools had closed on Wednesday and teachers have taken students to the protest at the state capital.

So far Michelle Bachman has my vote for most conservative Common sense.
( I KNOW common sense is an oxymoron)

Never trust a gun grabber. If they want you disarmed, it's because they view you as a subject, not a citizen.

It's the very first question to ask. After that you move on to limited government and balanced budget and fair tax and all the rest.

Anyone I hear using the term "common sense gun control" is a bradyite and loses any respect, consideration and my willingness to listen any further.
What part of "shall not be infringed" is it you gun grabbing assholes have trouble with?

I don't like his gun-grabbingness either. But so what? Unlike President Zero, President Christie won't be allowed to write any gun-grabbing laws.

The upside is -

Anyone and everyone mentioned will be a great improvement over the Boy King.
