Some of the sad/funny tales coming from North East Japan is that they have found "shrine" stones (Gods) with carved warnings about "you have be at this location or higher if an earth quake and tsunami hits." They were at inconvenient locations and as the centuries passed the locals forgot about them. In some location a few old timers new about them and saved themselves by going to them.

REinforced Concrete, and that's Hiroshima in the top picture, Otsuchi in the lower picture. Nagasaki, which is farther from the earthquake than Seoul, was untouched.
