Another Pogo Moment

Yet Another Pogo Moment?
We have met the enemy and he is RINO
President Barack Obama and congressional leaders were regrouping after House Republicans abandoned efforts for a massive deficit reduction package of $4 trillion over 10 years - a potential deal that had unnerved partisans from both political parties.

A deficit reduction agreement is crucial to winning Republican support for an increase in the nation's debt ceiling. The government's borrowing capacity is currently capped at $14.3 trillion and administration officials say the United States will go into default without action by Aug. 2.

House Speaker John Boehner announced late Saturday that he was now looking for a deal about half that size, saying chances for a bigger agreement succumbed to White House insistence on substantial new tax revenue.

Let's just say it.  John Boehner is, at best, a pussy.  A few days ago Rush, quoting a Pat Buchanan article, spoke of the historic opportunity Republicans have.  Spoke of Democrats and the Ruling Class bluffing, and in full panic mode.  It appears that House Republicans are holding firm on their  "no tax increase" pledge, but what's this about to begin with?  It's about submitting a budget that will not increase the debt ceiling yet again, and without raising taxes.  Living within our means. That's the opportunity.  Force government to address its trillions in unfunded entitlements. Letting August 2 come and go without increasing the debt ceiling would in itself be a victory.  When Americans wake up on August 3rd to a risen sun,  Democrats will have lost yet another tool from their bag of tricks.  It's here that Boehner has just been bluffed into surrender.  It seems.

The GOP's Hezbollah Wing Is Now Fully in Control,' screams The New Republic over a recent lead editorial. Other columnists charge the GOP with holding America 'hostage'" and a gun to the American peoples' heads "by refusing to accept tax hikes to avert a default on the debt.

The Debt Ceiling isn't a gun to the American people's heads. It is a gun to the head of our politicians. This is why the dems hate it so much.

"....the Democrats are pushing hard for tax increases.."
So what else is new Mr. McConnell & Mr. Boehner? Push back harder. This is a war for the survival of America. Fight like our lives depend on it.
One more time Mr. McConnell & Mr. Boehner. Don't you understand yet?
This. Is. A. War.
Fight Stab Kick Bite Gouge Scream, whatever, but stand your ground.
The Federal Government Ponzi scheme chain letter has finally run out of subscribers. We must live within our means.

Remember when Poppa Bush agreed to immediate tax raises in exchange for greater future spending cuts? How did that work out? We got the taxes, we got a recession, we got Bill Clinton but we never saw any spending cuts. How can a party that can't produce a budget promise future cuts a decade from now?

Any deal must be based on steep cuts applied to current spending levels. The only acceptable way to raising revenue is by stopping all tax subsidies to corporation, individuals and especially non-government agencies regardless of the worthiness of their causes.

The tax an spend elite will win the day as the limpwristed phony conservatives cave again. Ayn Rand said it best when it comes to compromise. WE LOSE every time.
