Hoyer and Boner Tap Dance on the Constitution

“
At a press briefing on Tuesday, House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) said that President Obama had "broad authority" to take unilateral action on immigration but failed to directly answer a question asking him where specifically the Constitution authorized President Obama to unilaterally decided not to enforce immigration laws.
CNSNews.com asked Hoyer: “The Constitution requires that the president ‘take care that the laws be faithfully executed.’ Where specifically in the Constitution does it give the president the power not to enforce immigration laws against 5 million violators of that law?”

Hoyer did not point to any specific provision of the Constitution, but said that Obama had authority because "president have broad authority to deal with implementation" of immigration law. [Hoyer Doesn't Say]

The very question we've all been axing since Holder and Obama attacked Arizona for ENFORCING  immigration laws.

But what the hell does it matter when BOEHNER NEGOTIATES TERMS OF SURRENDER TO KING BARACK'S EXECUTIVE AMNESTY?

Marshall Pétain v. Mitch McConnell

“ Mitch McConnell and NRSC to Host D.C. Fundraiser for ObamaCare Sympathizer Thom Tillis

Tonight, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) headquarters is hosting a fundraiser for North Carolina moderate and Senatorial candidate Thom Tillis. Headlining the fundraiser invite was a "who's who" of beltway establishmentarians, including Senator Mitch McConnell, Senator Lamar Alexander, and Senator Richard Burr. Attendees must pay a minimum of $1,000 per PAC or $500 per person to rub elbows with the D.C. elite.

According to the Washington Post, NRSC Chairman Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) explained today that playing in races like this one are a priority because the "map and opportunities have expanded dramatically in a year, in part because of the consequences of the Affordable Care Act."

This is an ironic statement, given that Thom Tillis effectively endorsed ObamaCare as a "great idea that can't be paid for."

"A lot can be learned about a man by looking at the company he keeps," commented Matt Kibbe, President of FreedomWorks for America. "While fiscal conservative Greg Brannon is meeting with grassroots activists from across the state of North Carolina, Thom Tillis will be in Washington D.C., rubbing elbows with the establishment Republicans who failed to take a stand in the battle to defeat ObamaCare."

"North Carolinians have to decide, do you want a Senator like Greg Brannon who will fight alongside conservatives like Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul on the Senate floor to defeat ObamaCare? Or do you want a Senator who schmoozes alongside progressive Republicans like Mitch McConnell and Lamar Alexander at swanky cocktail parties?"

All begging the question:  What was worse:  The Nazis occupying France, or Marshall Pétain's Vichy government?  Same thing.

Democrat Wing of the GOP

DID I MOVE?

SCROLL
With all the smirking on the left about their electoral victories, it's important to remember that Democrats haven't won the hearts and minds of the American people. They changed the people. If you pour vinegar into a bottle of wine, the wine didn't turn, you poured vinegar into it.

Did Republicans really think they could pawn off the idea that our forefathers fought and died at Valley Forge so that illegal aliens wouldn't have to live in the shadows?
Similarly, liberals changed no minds. They added millions of new liberal voters through immigration.

So why are Republicans like Trey Gowdy, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan and John Boehner making fools of themselves in order to spot the Democrats three more touchdowns?

The House Republicans' "Standards for Immigration Reform," for example, contains this fat, honking nonsense: "One of the great founding principles of our country was that children would not be punished for the mistakes of their parents."

As the kids say: WTF?  [Cont Did I Move? Ann Coulter]

I did a quick Nexus-Lexis scan on phrases, "GOP stupid party;" "GOP bigger tent;" "GOP caves;" "GOP more inclusive;" and "GOP want to be loved" over the past 25 years,  and got 2.78 trillion hits.  So talking about it, like we do here, is a rather sterile exercise.  I guess it's a necessary catharsis; only thing I can think of. A steam escape valve—so our heads don't blow up, and we go on an insane rampage.  Steam ought to be allowed to build in this case,  is what I'm thinking. Proper rampages settle things.

What sort of sound does a Rino make mommy?

Blah-Blah-RINO-Blah
“

On Monday evening, former CBS News insider Bernie Goldberg appeared on The O’Reilly Factor to blame the tea party for a potential 2016 presidential loss. “As far as the tea partiers are concerned, anybody to the left of Ted Cruz is a RINO,” Goldberg lamented. “But you know what? The real RINOs are the real people in the tea party and on the hard right, because they have made it clear over and over again that their allegiance is not to the this Republican party but to their particular brand of conservatism, so they’re the RINOs.”

Wirh that single demonstrative pronoun edit, Bernie is 100% right.  In his own baby RINO mind.

Scott Brown, Chris Christie, Charlie Crist, Olympia ...

“
A Monkey Raised by Wolves Will Think It's a Wolf

Res Ipsa Loquitor

Friday night last, former Senator Brown, now a Fox Contributor, filled in for Bill O’Reilly on The O’Reilly Factor. The Senator opened with the trademark O’Reilly “Talking Points Memo” delivered Scott Brown-style. Asked Mr. Brown: “Would President Reagan be called a ‘RINO” — a ‘Republican in Name Only’?”

Brown answered his own question by citing "conservative disfavor with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie."

It's how they think in their cloistered little environment; one where a kind word by the New York Times is seen as celebration of open-mindedness, and willingness to compromise.  *monkey sound*

Dan Liljenquist for U.S. Senate SNARK

AMERICAN SNARK

“

Dear Friend,

As we come into the new year, I'd like to thank Orrin Hatch for his 36 years of service. I would also like to wish him well on his way out of the United States Senate. It has been far too long for Utah and the United States and it's time for a change. Orrin Hatch has done more than any other Republican in the history of this country to nationalize health care. He resurrected Hillarycare and dusted it off and gave Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton the biggest wins of their careers when he pushed through SCHIP. God bless Orrin Hatch for his nearly 4 decades of service, but I won’t need to wait 36 years to make a difference.

Sincerely,

Dan Liljenquist for U.S. Senate

I received that via e-mail this morning.  Despite the "Dan for Senate" header, My eyes jumped to the text. I assumed it was Liljenquist's endorsement of a Hatch reelection.  Until I read it for the third time.  What fun. . Dan Liljenquist for U.S. Senate

Calling Bull-sh*t on Paul Ryan

Trust no one, verify everything.
Calling Bull-sh*t on Paul Ryan.

Paul Ryan's Signature

“ (E-mail just received)

Rodger, in 2010, you and millions of Americans put your faith in Republicans to get our nation's fiscal house in order by electing a GOP majority to the U.S. House. These men and women didn't come to Washington for a career -- they came for a cause that's bigger than you or me.

It's the cause to get this country on the right track by paying off our spiraling debt, fulfilling the mission of retirement security and getting the economy growing again.

Republicans in the U.S. House are working hard to keep our charge. We've made steady progress by passing a 2012 budget that cuts spending so government lives within its means, reduces the deficit, unleashes the forces of the free market to create jobs, reforms the tax code so it's fairer and tackles entitlement reform.

Unfortunately, our budget doesn't have a chance of getting a fair shake by Harry Reid in the Democrat-controlled U.S. Senate -- let alone of surviving President Obama's veto pen unscathed.

The only way Republicans can right our ship and get America on a sustainable path to economic growth and prosperity is to expand our majority in the U.S. House, recapture the U.S. Senate and elect a Republican president in 2012.

[Blah-blah ask for money]

Sincerely,
Paul Ryan's Signature

“ Paul Ryan Backs Boehner's Plan

Wednesday, 27 Jul 2011 07:49 AM

House Speaker John Boehner's deficit reducing plan has picked up one key supporter, Rep. Paul Ryan, according to his Op-Ed column in the National Review.

"The Budget Control Act takes an important step in the right direction by cutting $1.2 trillion in government spending over the next decade," Ryan writes. "Critically, it does this without resorting to Senator Reid’s gimmicks and without imposing the president’s preferred tax increases on American families and the struggling economy."

From the Cato Institute:

“ Actually, the revised Boehner plan doesn’t cut spending at all. The chart shows the discretionary spending caps in the new Boehner plan. Spending increases every year—from $1.043 trillion in 2012 to $1.234 trillion in 2021. (These figures exclude the costs of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan).

House Republicans do not have enough support to pass their debt-ceiling increase plan on their own, a top conservative said Tuesday as his party’s leaders tried to cobble together a coalition of Republicans willing to drink Kool-Aid and join Democrats to put the bill over the top.

Another Pogo Moment

Yet Another Pogo Moment?
We have met the enemy and he is RINO
“ President Barack Obama and congressional leaders were regrouping after House Republicans abandoned efforts for a massive deficit reduction package of $4 trillion over 10 years - a potential deal that had unnerved partisans from both political parties.

A deficit reduction agreement is crucial to winning Republican support for an increase in the nation's debt ceiling. The government's borrowing capacity is currently capped at $14.3 trillion and administration officials say the United States will go into default without action by Aug. 2.

House Speaker John Boehner announced late Saturday that he was now looking for a deal about half that size, saying chances for a bigger agreement succumbed to White House insistence on substantial new tax revenue.
”

Let's just say it.  John Boehner is, at best, a pussy.  A few days ago Rush, quoting a Pat Buchanan article, spoke of the historic opportunity Republicans have.  Spoke of Democrats and the Ruling Class bluffing, and in full panic mode.  It appears that House Republicans are holding firm on their  "no tax increase" pledge, but what's this about to begin with?  It's about submitting a budget that will not increase the debt ceiling yet again, and without raising taxes.  Living within our means. That's the opportunity.  Force government to address its trillions in unfunded entitlements. Letting August 2 come and go without increasing the debt ceiling would in itself be a victory.  When Americans wake up on August 3rd to a risen sun,  Democrats will have lost yet another tool from their bag of tricks.  It's here that Boehner has just been bluffed into surrender.  It seems.

“The GOP's Hezbollah Wing Is Now Fully in Control,' screams The New Republic over a recent lead editorial. Other columnists charge the GOP with holding America 'hostage'" and a gun to the American peoples' heads "by refusing to accept tax hikes to avert a default on the debt.

David Brooks "No Brain"

Go spank your monkey Brooks
“
-
The party is not being asked to raise marginal tax rates in a way that might pervert incentives. On the contrary, Republicans are merely being asked to close loopholes and eliminate tax expenditures that are themselves distortionary.

This, as I say, is the mother of all no-brainers.

But we can have no confidence that the Republicans will seize this opportunity. That’s because the Republican Party may no longer be a normal party. Over the past few years, it has been infected by a faction that is more of a psychological protest than a practical, governing alternative.  [David Brooks, New York Times token "Uncle Barry"
Republican American]
”

Gee, I wonder who he's talking about?

“” The members of this movement do not accept the logic of compromise, no matter how sweet the terms. If you ask them to raise taxes by an inch in order to cut government by a foot, they will say no. If you ask them to raise taxes by an inch to cut government by a yard, they will still say no.

The members of this movement do not accept the legitimacy of scholars and intellectual authorities. A thousand impartial experts may tell them that a default on the debt would have calamitous effects, far worse than raising tax revenues a bit. But the members of this movement refuse to believe it.

The members of this movement have no sense of moral decency. A nation makes a sacred pledge to pay the money back when it borrows money. But the members of this movement talk blandly of default and are willing to stain their nation’s honor.

Pour yourself a cup of tea Brooks, it might cure that incessant diarrhea.

Jack Welch: Just 3 Serious GOP Presidential Contenders

Jack Welch: Just 3 Serious GOP Presidential Contenders

He thinks Tim Pawlenty, Mitt Romney or Jon Huntsman will top the GOP ticket in November 2012.

Why thank you Jack.  I know I want my candidate selected by the political and business establishment elite. That's always worked so well for us in the past.  Jack Welch, in case you didn't know, is the former King of GE.  He does Bohemian Grove and prolly Bilderberg.  Under his stewardship GE made a ton, make that tons, of money.  Of course his successor, Jeffrey Immelt,  is doing just mahvelous things himself.  But enough snide.  Let's consider the whences and whyfores of  his anointed three.  All do have one thing in common;  nobody knows what it is that makes them so irresistible, or even who in the hell they are?

Man on the street

Mitt Romney — Man-oh-man do the establishment types love this guy, or what?  Mitt has so many negatives that, well, given the tea party successes of 2010 you have to wonder how it is he's still running?  Mitt's been on both sides of just about every issue you care to mention;  abortion, gun control, Iraq and Afghanistan, — name something.  Romneycare  became the model for Obamacare fer chrisake!  This guy is wearing a toe tag, but people like Welch keep -  well, you saw A Weekend With Bernie?  Same thing.  But WHY? The answer is is he's establishment GOP.  A known commodity.  They're comfortable with him.

Bottom Line
"Stab me in the Liver!"
Mitt Who?
Tim Pawaltny—  A Former Minnesota governor, Pawaltny's name popped up out of nowhere, and he's been a front runner ever since, even if there's no poll data to support it.  That the question "Conservative or RINO" is even asked would seem to eliminate him.  But forget all that.  Pawaltny was Minnesoata's Head of State when Al Frankin was allowed to flat-out steal a United States Senate seat.  That's how much control he had over Democrat shenanigans in Minnesota.  Remember, we're evaluating his selection to Jack Welch's Hot List.

Bottom line " Yikes! Who?  Tim Noreltney?"
Noreltney?
Jon Huntsman— Who?  - A former governor of Utah, I had never heard of him until about two weeks ago when, out of the blue, he became somebody of note.  A savior.  This is all too reminiscent of Obama.  Just as I think Obama began as a hedge against Hillary Clinton, who the Democrat establishment firmly believed was unelectable, so too might Huntsman be a Palin or Bachman hedge.  Both are tea party favorites, and god forbid one of them wins the nomination.  It's not so much that the GOP thinks both are unelectable (they do), but even worse what if one was elected!  Blood will run out of the cracks at GOP central.   Like Obama,  Huntsman is a blanksheet of paper.  They can make him be whatever they want during a short election cycle.  The fact that Welch includes him here leaves me convinced that my instincts are right.

Bottom line "Who the hell is he?  Really?"
Hunt Club?
Conclusion:  The Barn Army dismisses all three - with prejudice.
