Is it possible that he was trying to distract Obama from spending time in states campaigning? Or maybe setting him up for a "It wasn't fast enough" attack this weekend? Christie has been a big Romney supporter. I can't see him actively stabbing him in the back.

I had a visit from the FBI after 9/11 in Ohio...I did survive what happened in Detroit City the week before 9/11...they laffed it off but you can look it up...you get to see strange things when Aviating jets with some people.
