“ The five-year member of the LA Fitness club on El Norte Parkway in Escondido was outraged last week when she went to turn on the right-leaning cable channel while working out and found it wouldn't come in.

Lowe talked to a gym attendant, who she said told her that LA Fitness officials had ordered it shut down.

"They told me, 'We are not allowed to turn on Fox News,' and that was a decision from corporate," Lowe said. [North County Times Blah-blah blah]

I belong to this chain. They build nice facilities compared to 24 Hour Fitness but from the top to bottom it's run by douchebags.

There is no actual management beyond salespeople being beaten into hitting quotas. The gym areas are run on the honor system and therefore overrun with inconsiderate a-holes.

That they banned Fox for a while probably has nothing to do with politics but with the ebb and flow of complaints to their 800 number. The gyms are roach motels for the sales departments. That's about it.

And on that note I would get a refund of any remaining membership fees, and go to the other chain.
