Gone Feral

Gone Feral

Gone feral on us*

ABC's Cokie Roberts said something on national television Sunday that made her colleague George Will shake his head on camera.

COKIE ROBERTS: This group of people in New York [Standard and Poor’s] is actually talking about more government rather than less government, Congressman. In fact, the reason they like France and Great Britain is because they’re parliamentary systems where the majority gets what it wants no matter what.

And the problem that we have here is the Constitution of the United States of America which actually does require people to come together from different perspectives whether it's divided government or not. We have divided branches of government under any circumstance.

Wow!

True - the UK system includes a Party Whip and Members of Parliament can be required to vote along party lines. Free votes tend to be the exception rather than the rule (and even then, a party can require its members to vote the party line rather than their conscience).

That would simply mean that whenever a vote came up in Congress the Republicans would always win because they'd HAVE to vote the party line.

Why would anyone listen to Cokehead Roberts? What qualifications does she have to comment on anything but the traffic on her way to work? Oh, yeah, she can read Dem talking points and her father was a Congressman and she can stand in front of a green screen and tell her audience she's reporting from the White House. That'll do it.

Cokie always talked a demure brand of Liberalism; sometimes showing sense. She's done gong feral now, like so many of her ilk.

I-RIGHT-I said...

Like Black thugs all over the country with this President in office she feels bulletproof enough to do anything, say anything but in fact she's just being herself for a change. I've heard it's quite liberating. I look forward to the same feeling one of these days. Bulletproof? lol

A number of parliamentary democracies also have a thing they call, "A vote of no confidence". I don't think Obama would survive one right now.
What's funny was just the other day I was reading an article in the online Brit paper " The Telegraph" in it the author was displaying envy at our checks and balance system and mourning that you couldn't get the pols to even talk about restricting spending.

At one time I suppose, Cokie was at least cute. Now she is a wizened old hag who also spouts bulls$(t and calls it beefsteak.

I find it so funny that the talking points go from one leftist to another almost uniformly. Saw a montage of the "tea party downgrade" thing this morning and they are in lockstep.....just like Nazi Germany eh wot?????

Bolivar - the left have worn a unibrow for some time now, an offshoot of the "Clinton War-room" developed by Carville and gang in their effort to control and contain the message. Today's Democrat party is the bastard child of that union. IMO.

The problem with everybody reading off the same playbook and using the exact same wording it that it gets real noticeable that they are all using the same words and reading off the same playbook. The message tends to get filtered out and diluted. They don't have the brain power to play the game anymore.

Cokie's dad, Congressman Hale Boggs, of Louisiana, was also a government plant/shill on the Warren Commission who helped ensure that it arrive at LBJ's pre-ordained conclusion.

He wound up being a protein source for a grizzly bear in Alaska when his plane went down there.

If he was still alive (and not incarcerated - not a given for Louisiana politcians), Pelosi would appoint him to the Super-Congress to raise taxes.
