I first took official notice of Senator Leahy back when the committee he was "serving" on was investigating the Randy Weaver incident, and mistakenly took his seeming concern with that tragedy as genuine and non-partisan. It didn't take me long to get over that private little fantasy. Boy, did I mis-judge that sorry sumbitch.

The Weaver incident happened under Bush Mk.1.

Of course he was concerned about a possible Republican President's failure.
