Oath Keepers v. Blue Helmets

Tails of the Gun

UN-Gunning

Res Ipsa LoquitorOn July 27th, the nations of the world are scheduled to meet in New York to sign a global Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). Disguised as a way to prevent the proliferation of small arms throughout the world, it is, in fact, a backdoor way to legislate gun control in the United States and effectively repeal our Second Amendment.

The ATT will set up a global body which will require all nations to regulate firearms so that they can prevent their exportation to other countries. Inevitably, this will require countries to inventory the guns in private hands and to register them. A gun ban is not far away.

The ATT, under the Supremacy Clause of the US Constitution, would have the power of a constitutional amendment and would, effectively, repeal the Second Amendment guaranteeing us the right to bear arms. We must fight to stop the US from signing the treaty and, if we fail, block Senate ratification. [Full]

In the early days of this blog, Jimmy Carter, acting on his own, without portfolio,  invited  the UN to monitor US elections,  I asked readers then to sign a blood oath.   Fully 70% agreed  to treat any blue helmet on US soil , acting in any capacity  whatever that assumed domionion over any US citizen, be summarily treated like Nazis landed by submarine on U.S, shores. Ahem.

True, my readership then was about 10 people, but I extrapolated to include all blog readers.  I am therefore calling upon some 80 million Americans to honor their oath, gird their loins,  and act accordingly here.
Merrily

In May of 1983 I swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.

As I recall, there is no expiration date.

I'm a little too sick an old right now to join the fight but I'll glady donate my unwashed socks with the holes in them. It's cruel I know, but if you are going to play that game you got to expect natural and organic attacks. For the domestic versions I have some old underwear with racing stripes and other contaminates.

It's been a long time since I've fired a shot in anger, but I'm ready to begin again now. No Smurfs in America, no Smurf treaty to get my guns(George Soros can go get Biblical with himself,) and no time like RIGHT NOW to stop this foolishness.

Count me in!

We need to start bringing our long guns to demonstrations. No more genteel holstered pistols or CCW. In their faces.

Uh, no.

The treaty provision in Article II, section 2, does not supersede actual amendments.

Article V makes that clear.

The 10th amendment ( State's rights ) gets stepped on occasionally because of the 14th amendment.

Such a treaty, if ratified, can only be applied to imports and exports.

However, it would open the door to abuse ( does that rifle have a foreign made machine screw in it? ) and so must be opposed.

The senate has to approve all treaties before they become applicable. Barry can't simply sign an executive order on this. Hopefully there are enough senators with cajones (or at least a well-honed survival instinct).
