COLUMBINE VICTIM’S FATHER

    Liberal Culture

“
COLUMBINE VICTIM’S FATHER 12 YEARS LATER

Guess our national leaders didn’t expect this.

On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.

"Your laws ignore our deepest needs, Your words are empty air. You’ve stripped away our heritage, You’ve outlawed simple prayer. Now gunshots fill our classrooms, And precious children die. You seek for answers everywhere, And ask the question “Why?” You regulate restrictive laws, Through legislative creed. And yet you fail to understand, That God is what we need!"
They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness.. The following is a portion of the transcript:

“Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.

“The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain’s heart.

“In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don’t believe that they are responsible for my daughter’s death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel’s murder I would be their strongest opponent

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy — it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs, Your words are empty air. You’ve stripped away our heritage, You’ve outlawed simple prayer. Now gunshots fill our classrooms, And precious children die. You seek for answers everywhere, And ask the question “Why?” You regulate restrictive laws, Through legislative creed. And yet you fail to understand, That God is what we need!

“Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation’s history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine’s tragedy occurs —politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

“As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA — I give to you a sincere challenge.. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter’s death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!” - Darrell Scott

Unless you happened to be watching C-Span,  you never heard peep-one about this, because its message was, and is, anathema to today's public chroniclers.  The video above was produced by a young man who states, "I had never heard of this (Columbine) ..."  Yikes.  It seems like yesterday that the likes of Bill Clinton and Michael Moore used it to make political hay.

Brats with Guns

“
Caleb Weintraub Art

So Elliot Rodger decided that all that money and privilege was not enough, the bitches and ho's weren't servicing him. They weren't doing his bidding. He was a 22 year old VIRGIN!!! Oh the horrors!!!! (I ponder whether he'd met his right hand yet?) So he decides that instead of maybe seeing a shrink to figure out why his narcissistic personality disorder was effecting his prowess with the "sluts" of UCSB (and there are a crap load of sluts there), he decided to kill. I watched his video manifesto thingy and this guy was seriously a total asshole.

Elliot was the epitome of the liberal elite progeny. Spoiled rotten, entitled and stupid. In his mind he deserved sluts of his own. I would hazard a guess he attended primary schools where he was told every day how awesome he was.
The full post

Anybody yet mention our toxic culture?  As an aside, MoSup wonders whether there heve been any studies done on hippy drug culture parents and progeny?  Why not? She wonders.

"If banning guns and ammunition can save just one child then we shoulf strongly consider it."

If I'm honest, I can't find that quote from Steinem (although she did join Jane Fonda in calling for the FCC to ban Rush Limbaugh).  She is a gun-nut however, and did have an abortion at the age of 22, so it's an artistically fair portrayal.   Just for snickers I Googled "Gloria  Steinem Nude"

The Gun-Happy Swiss

Res Ipsa Loquitor

Res Ipsa Loquitor

You can see immediately where this is going.  An NPR "special series" on guns in America.  Did I say NPR?  The thing is,  I've been holding this for a week; it was originally published last March, pre-dating the "Navy-Yard" shootings, so that's not what compels me.  What does is having another exemplar of Liberal writing about guns.

Soraya Sarhaddi Nelson here looks at Switzerland- whoops
— "Gun Loving" Switzerland,"— an immediate tip-off to mindset.   She is not a fan. So, what's good and bad about gun loving Switzerland?.  Read it.  See if you can find the "hasn't worked."  I found these.
  • Swiss — like Americans — are grappling (oft used Liberal fun word for unsubstantiated predicates)  with the question of gun control these days after shooting attacks like one on Feb. 27 that killed four people in a factory outside Lucerne.
  • Firearm deaths in Switzerland take place at just one-seventh the rate that they occur in the United States. But researchers say guns are often used in suicides and crimes of passion in Switzerland. (OMFG! Is she saying that with no access to guns there would be no suicides?)
  • Gun control advocates argue Swiss authorities have lost track of too many of these military-issued guns, which account for most of the 2.5 million-plus guns in Switzerland. (That's what "gun control advocates do you twit.  Else they would not be  gun control advocates. )
Here are a few of the good.
  • "Gun politics in Switzerland are unique in Europe. Switzerland does not have a standing army, instead opting for a people's militia for its national defense." (Wiki)
  • "It's a tradition that some historians say kept the Nazis from trying to overrun Switzerland during World War II."(Article)
What an awkward sentence.  "It's a tradition that some historians say ..." What does  that mean— "Tradition;" "Some historians?"  If you're going to throw in that qualifier, then I  expect a citation for historians who omit that tradition.  And does not mentioning something automatically mean dissent?  Of course not.

I think the reader will find that the "what's worked" column dominates this article.  Even if the reader is not aware that tax payer subsidized NPR is a nest of cloistered Liberals, with little knowledge of the other side of any issue they advocate; and that they make shit up, a lot;  the reader will like and admire the gun happy Swiss.  Soraya Sarhaddi Nelson was not able to make a sow's ear from a silk purse.

DiFI - "I' tried to shoot my nephew in the face!

“
Res Ipsa Loquitor

WASHINGTON (BHN) - Sen. Diane Feinstein (RTRD-Ca) wasted no time in capitalizing on Monday's mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard, by claiming guns are deliberately making many otherwise-normal individuals mentally unstable.

In a hurriedly-called press conference, the California Democrat said, "I ask you, why are these shooters always crazy? The reason is obvious, guns make people go insane - I know the only time I ever held one, I wet myself and attempted to shoot my nephew in the face. Thank God is was unloaded."

Feinstein is well known for her work in reducing gun-related injuries and tirelessly promoting the killing of unborn children.

I did not make this up.  He did.

Getting a Concealed Handgun License in Texas WTF?

Res Ipsa Loquitor

I like Texas. Nice people, good state. But one thing that continues to puzzle me is why Texas handgun carry laws are so, well, pathetic. Here is a summary of the requirements for getting a concealed handgun permit: (IANAL so don't take this as legal advice):

Fee: $140 for 5 yrs. Training: In person, at least 4-6 hours, with shooting exam, by TX certified instructor. Fingerprints: required. Photo: required. Open carry: prohibited.

Let's contrast that with some "liberal" states:

  • Pennsylvania: Fee: $19 Training: Not required. Fingerprints: None required. Photo: Passport photo required in some places. Open carry: legal, except you'll be harassed in Philly.
  • Vermont: No permit required to carry openly or concealed.
  • Wisconsin: Fee: $40 Training: Required, but can be obtained for free. Fingerprints: None required. Photo: Not required. Open carry: legal.
  • So what's with Texas? Its laws for carry of firearms are becoming more comparable with those of Illinois. And it's not an idle question for those of us in VA, since the nonresident permit issued by VA is being used as an alternative to the TX resident permit.  [Free Republic Post]

I know that Texas has some swollen lymph nodes that might be cancer (like Austin and San Antonio),  but still, this is way counter-intuitive for me.   I mean, WTFF?  Here's the  link to the Texas CHL site.   Sheesh.

DC Gun Lunacy

Police State Culture

Res Ipsa Loquitor
“ Washington police are operating under orders to arrest tourists and other non-residents traveling with spent bullet or shotgun casings, a crime that carries a $1,000 fine, a year in jail and a criminal record, according to a new book about the city's confusing gun laws.

"Empty shell casings are considered ammunition in Washington, D.C., so they are illegal to possess unless you are a resident and have a gun registration certificate," pens Emily Miller in her investigative book, "Emily Gets Her Gun: ... But Obama Wants to Take Yours."

Under the law, live or empty brass and plastic casings must be carried in a special container and unavailable to drivers. Having one, for example, in a cup holder or ash tray is illegal. [Full]

New Jersey bans BB Guns?

“
New Jersey Adds Several  .... (WTF)?  AIR RIFLES to Its Banned Gun List

Res Ipsa Loquitor

Well, it’s official, New Jersey has jumped the shark on gun control (if they already hadn’t).

According to NJ2AS, the state has banned several types of popular, high end, air rifles.

Specifically, any air rifle that is made to be quieter by design.

One example of this is the Gamo Whisper line of rifles.

These rifles make great pest control rifles for people that own some land, but don’t want to disturb nearby neighbors with the sounds of traditional firearms.

This is, I believe,  no longer only about gun control;  it's about ideology.  The STATE is cracking heads in its struggle for supremacay over the concept of individual rights.
