Chicagoans hungry to flip the bird to Rahm, nicely

Res Ipsa Loquitor
The line at 12:10pm extended down the city block from the entrance, full of Chicagoans who, it would seem, don’t share Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s definition of “Chicago Values.”

Some of you asked just what the scene’s like on Chick-fil-A appreciation day in Chicago, home to #ChicagoValues, and the city at the heart of the controversy over Chick-fil-A after our mayor congratulated an alderman in shutting the company out of opening a second location within the city limits.

Chick-fil-A mini rival, New York-based eatery Schnipper's Quality Kitchen has announced plans to donate a portion of its proceeds throughout the month of August to benefit marriage equality. Once again, I think the left have misread what this is about.

Yes, there are cultural, religious, and  traditional value reasons up the ying-yang  for opposing gay marriage, but there's another reason for hopping to Chic-Filet's defense.  This chap makes the point in Legal Insurrection's comments:

I think that the liberals “in-your-face” tactics towards businesses, free speech and pursuit of the ridiculous will really haunt them in November.

I think that even the dumbed down public is fed up with this BS, political correctness and the total lack of common sense.

Hopefully, many in this liberal cabal of thieves, liars and oppressors will be evicted in November beginning with the head, “You didn’t build this,” supporter.

Toss ‘em all out!

Couldn't get near the place at lunch time, at any location. Local Police were dispatched to control traffic that was back up out of the lots and onto the streets.

Went back late afternoon, for a chicken sandwich and a order of "1st Amendment No Waffling Fries".

The lines were out the door still.

600 miles to the nearest Chick Fil A? Sorry I can't give them my immediate support. But I sure will remember if I get in their neighborhood.

Foothill Ranch CA was running out of food by the time I got there at 1:00pm, even though they ordered an extra TRUCKLOAD for the week. I asked a cop there "pretty busy day, for you, eh?". "Not for me, I just sent two cars back to patrol duty, because it's been so peaceful". No rapes, no assaults, no OD's, just ordinary folks behaving themselves. Be sure to tune into the MSM tonight, for a full report/S.

Waited an hour at mine. Got my family dinner. Well worth it. The people in line and around were having a great time. It was like a party of friends even though I never met any of them before. Awesome. I did feel bad for the employees. A couple left for the day and could barely walk when they got to their car. lol

I live in Las Vegas. We have none here. When I lived in Warner Robins, GA, we had them, and they were great. One day, maybe they'll expand here.

In my area in West Central Virginia...

Police were on hand directing traffic on Wards Road as cars poured into the Chick-fil-A parking lot Wednesday afternoon.

Mmmm, the pungent aroma of temporary, meaningless, and transparently phony pandering. Smells like a chicken forgotten in the back of the fridge for a month.

Normally 20 or so in line at the local mall food court Chick-Fil-A on any given day. Today there was about 100 with the rest of the tables already slammed. Plus lots of folks walking around the mall with Chick-Fil-A bags. Still slammed 2 hours later after I came out of the movies.

Can you say 'backfire'???

I'm in San Diego with the family, we left the motel around 7 PM looking for dinner. GPS said there was a Chick-Fil-A just three blocks away. So we headed over there. The line at the drive thru was blocking traffic out in the street. The line to get inside went out the doors and wrapped all the way around the parking lot. We passed - headed to the beach to watch the sunset. Went back by there 2 hours later, we're all really hungry now. The lines were still that long. We settled for sub sandwiches from some Mom and Pop place a block away. The cashier told me it had been a busier day than normal with all the folks that didn't want to wait in the long line down the street.

The line was long but everyone was all smiles. It took me 4 minutes to order at 2 and 11 min to get my meal. When my food was ready they called out my name "Captain America" there was clapping and cheers. What fun.
