I don't know why we do this stuff to ourselves. I idiotically, with no excuse whatsoever, watched the whole first season of "The Newsroom" because I happen to really like Jeff Daniels.

That is literally the most hackneyed, one sided and mindless schlock you could ever dream up. I hate every one of those loud mouth characters, I hate the putz who writes it...

But man I do like Jeff Daniels, and will probably soldier on to a second season.

Josh.

Thanks for the tip Rodge.

What's the latest on the Italian cuisine? Is it true that most of the Italian pizza joints are run by Egyptians?

True story - MoSup said (about an hour ago) that they had pizza for lunch and her sister Toni Baloney said "not even close to Rodge's." I belive it, because it's true.

Worst pizza I ever had was in Italy. Dog vomit on dough flattened by a garbage truck.

Pizza is an American dish. I worked in Italy two years, went numerous times after, and in my experience, pizza in Italy is lousy.

Let's face it. The only good Italian is an Italian American. Or, an American that owns one of those fancy pizza ovens.

You know, the Pope shouldn't make the faithful American RC's go all that way knowing full well the food and culture sucks over there. He should like...make a Vatican West. KCMO would make my hated sister in law very happy and there's enough Dago's that still cook to make him feel right at home. Yes, I know he's a German.

Uh oh, penalty on account of the two drink rule.

Dago? iri?

What? Did I spell it wrong peckerwood?

The Pope, Francis {no numeral} is from South America, Buenos Aires. Not Der Fatherland nor the Home of Rome.
Why would he give a fig about pizza? His mom might have made it, but Argentina is not noted to my knowledge for their pizza experience.
I had a home-made pizza from an Italian family in Oakland, the rear neighbors, that was very plain, but tasty. It was so memorable that even 35 years later it stuck in my head.

By the way. Where I grew up Dago and Peckerwood were terms of endearment mostly but not exclusively used on the ball field. I am an honorary Dago in good standing in Little Italy North in KCMO. Hope that helps.

The Pope Emeritus is German. The Pope is Argentinian.

So, Itralian grub is moot.
