Gird Your Loins BIG

We're pumping iron here boss!

Dear Maryland:

You're not welcome here.

I despise you for having no discernible football tradition, or a team that is good right now, or even a team that has been good recently--and for still thinking you're hot shit, all that, and God's gift to the B1G, and we should kiss the ground you walk on. That we should be THANKFUL (!) you're here. Hallelujah, just what we wanted--it's a self-righteous East Coast clone of freaking Indiana who has the nerve to think they're gonna walk in here and start churning out wins.  1G 2013 Maryland// How Can We Hate Something We Know Nothing About?

I enjoyed the hell out of that, truly.  The ACC is a sniveling,  passive-aggressive and duplicitous  operation, epitomized by Coach K. Weasel (the Terps own the best record against the Weasel in the ACC, and prolly the nation); so I appreciate stand-up, honest discourse.

I really look forward then  to Maryland's Big Ten inaugural season next year.  And, despite the charges leveled above, the Terps have won as many National football titles (2)  as have Wisconsin, Indiana,  Northwestern, and Michigan State combined (2).  But as a football conference, both the ACC and the BIG are gridiron bit players anymore.
   FOOTBALL
CONFERENCE RANKING

  1 SOUTHEASTERN
  2 BIG 12
  3 PAC-12
  4 BIG TEN
  5 I-A INDEPENDENTS
  6 BIG EAST
  7 ATLANTIC COAST
  8 WESTERN ATHLETIC
  9 SUN BELT
  10 MID-AMERICAN
As of 2012, the Pac 10 has the most NCAA Division I national championships in basketball with 15 total championships. UCLA, the winningest team in college basketball, won 11 of those (10 by John Wooden). Here is the championship count for the other main conferences:

* ACC - 12
* SEC - 11
* Big Ten - 10
* Big East - 10
* Big 12 - 5
* Big Eight - 4
* Big West - 1

When it comes to basketball however, Maryland has played in a conference that, John Wooden aside, dominates college hoops.  More to the point,take the ACC-Big Ten Challenge (where the ACC's record is 10–3–1).  The Terps are second only to Duke with a record of 10 wins and 4 losses.  I suspect BIG schools will soon develop a real hatred for Maryland, but for cause- after we shatter your dreams on the fields of honor. !  But look, nobody will hate the ACC more than us. So,thanks in advance BIG, for letting us escape. (But, Rutgers??? What were you thinking? )

Rutgers adds to a TV region. That's why. Welcome to the conference. Can't wait to see the UM/UM game!!!

If I can get some tickets to the big house for that game Roger, you and MoSup will be my guests there!
