One more year of playing in the minor leagues before we move up to the  Big.  Fk the ACC. I can't wait.  Wait a minute!  WTF is going on?  What about 2014?  That's supposed to be our move to the BIG TEN.  WTFF?

IRS buying "surveillance equipment"

Nanny State: One regulation away from total bliss
The Police State

The IRS wants to secure the surveillance equipment quickly – it posted a solicitation on June 6 and is looking to close the deal by Monday, June 10.  The agency already has a company lined up for the order but is not commenting on the details.

“The Internal Revenue Service intends to award a Purchase Order to an undisclosed Corporation,” reads the solicitation.

“The following descriptions are vague due to the use and nature of the items,” it says. [Full]

My editorial response to this sinister news is to post  Della Gestapo Ultima Orgia / ultima orgia del Terzo Reich (via YouTube) in its entirety.

The work of famed European film makers  Cesare Canevari and Antonio Lucarella, it was deemed so important that foreign subtitles were commissioned.

ALERT! As is the case with candid totalitarian brutality film, there are some graphic nudity scenes to contend with, so be prepared.  The acting in this docudrama is just stellar.  I feel it's incumbent upon us, the part-time smartest generation, to educate younger generations about what they can expect from the  IRS/Obamastapo, unless he is stopped.   Yes.  The same government they are largely responsible for empowering, especially the women.

You're Welcome

Tom Ammiano
San Francisco Assemblyman Tom Ammiano has been pushing a bill through the Legislature
which has the potential of turning all schools into beta test sites for social experiments.

AB 1266 would require a student to be permitted to use the male or female bathrooms and locker rooms in public schools, based on the student’s gender self-identification.

Lawmakers who support this bill claim they are protecting civil rights by creating laws for transgender persons.
[I am not making this up]

You know what I thought of while reading this?  A movie I recently started to watch, Shooter, about a sniper.  That's right.  I quit watching the movie because I  cannot watch Danny Glover anymore than I can stomach the legion of  Tom Ammianos in this country.  Click-click.  Someone, please, make the case that people like this ought not be dropped into a volcano.

Knuckleball!

This was a truly wonderful documentary from the great minds of Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg (Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work). I had the opportunity to see this at the Tribeca Film Festival and I could not have been more pleased with the results. It does not matter if you are a fan of baseball or n...read more

Would have been a great one hour ESPN "30 For 30" show. Unfortunately, lots of padding got this to a 1.5 hour film that lost all of its momentum. If they really were determined to make this a 90 minute film, they could have used the time to throw in some physics analysis or to have more intervie...read more

Those are comments from the NetFlix "Knuckleball!" review.   I agree with both, although milking an extra 20 minutes or so  was no problem for me.  Rather, like a good book, I was happy to have more pages at the end.  And it really doesn't matter whether you're baseball fan any more than not being a concert pianist lessens the impact of the wonderful  Note By Note - The Making Of The Steinway.  I've been great friends with Tim Wakefield—by proxy.  Guys just like him, like Bill Killoran.

By the by. and I believe I mentioned this in the wayback, the first Oriole game I saw after the family moved to MD was knuckleballer Hoyt Wilhelm's no-hitter against the Yankees.  My friend Andy DeOrge's dad took us, and we sat in the first row behind the Yankee dugout at Memorial Stadium.  Micky, Yogi, the whole lot.  What a freaking thrill.  Gus Triandos hit a solo homerun for the only score.  Total sensory overload.  Nevertheless, I would remain a White Sox fan for another 2-3 years.
