Cataracts

Just had my left eye de-cateracked.  Piece of cake. In recovery.

PS - While the nurse was prepping me I said "This place reminds me of the Obama Administration."
She just looked at me stony faced.
"Yeah, every thing here is eye-eye-eye"
Stony face.

Whoops.

Milady had hers done about 6 or 7 years ago here in Pensacola by a Top-Gun doc (Dr. Ullman) . . . one side at a time about 10 days apart.

Surgical and recovery team treated her like their own family. Very gratifying and reassuring. She also has macular degeneration, and that in combo with the cataracts caused DMV to yank her driver license.

Part of the surgery involved implantation of artificial lenses behind the natural ones. As soon as she could arrange a test, she got her license back.

I didn't mind chauffeuring her around, but her independence is extremely important to her, much more than being driven like an old lady (which, of course, she is now that she's pushin 76).

Is this why you showed us the pineapple slicer the other day?
