This is actually fun. I went to the basement and dragged up three old computers from which I am piecing together my past computer life. In the process I am updating Windows XP, which I will use with Linux Mint as soon as my new 3T hard drive is delivered tomorrow. What I have are a pretty collections of XP tweaks and XP ca tools. I also have retrieved most of my picture files, through 1999 anyway. And how about Limbaugh calling the GOP a corrupt organization! Giddyup! |

The GOP IS a corrupt organization. That is nothing new boss. I feel your computer pain. I have had issues lately on my desktop with it shutting down (blue screen of death) and I also think it was due to bad code in ASC - now gone. So far no more issues. I do have it on my laptop with no issues but, that may be an illusion. Hope you get the dinosaurs resurrected. I tried to resurrect an old XP machine and it didn't have the guts to run Windows 7 so it was not practicable for my network needs. I had wanted to use the 500 GB hard drive for pictures and a DVR. I have cut the cord - no cable (FIOS is a blood sucking hog) and installed OOMA on the remaining FIOS Internet.
We have kept Netflix and am now watching the original Atlas Shrugged as I type. Taylor Schilling is the best Dagny Taggart (the second is a poor imitator) and she is sorely missed. I note Ron Paul and Glenn Beck have bit parts in the third installment. My wife complains that I ramble on about numerous topics all at the same time.....is that bad?

Just got myself a new iMac and realized that Apple has eliminated the built-in optical drive. It took some getting used to when the disc drives were first eliminated but I'm going to buy an external drive because I can't see not being able to stick a disc of some kind into my 'puter.
I hope your Frankensteining goes swimmingly! -

I'm loving LinuxMint17 but I just figured out I probably need a powered USB hub. My USB keyboard wouldn't work with my Kindle plugged in and charging.
