Ronald Reagan Rhetoric and Nancy Pelosi Results
Well done, House Republicans. You’ve managed to screw it all up in only a few short weeks.

ERLC’s Russell Moore ‘Disgusted’ by GOP’s Decision to Drop Pro-Life Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 22, 2015—Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, responded to House Republicans’ decision to drop the “Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” a major pro-life bill that would ban abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy.

“I am disgusted by this act of moral cowardice. If the House Republicans cannot pass something as basic as restricting the abortion of five-month, pain-capable unborn children, what can they get done?

“The Republicans in Congress should come and explain this atrocity to the hundreds of thousands of people gathering here in the nation’s capital to march for life. The congressional Republicans seem to think that pro-lifers will be satisfied with Ronald Reagan rhetoric and Nancy Pelosi results. They are quite wrong.”

House Republicans are now scheduled to vote on a bill Thursday that would prohibit federal funding for abortions. This scheduled vote coincides with the annual March for Life event, held in Washington, D.C., on or around the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision legalizing abortion in the case Roe v. Wade.

The Southern Baptist Convention is America’s largest Protestant denomination with more than 15.8 million members in over 46,000 churches nationwide. The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission is the SBC’s ethics, religious liberty and public policy agency with offices in Nashville, Tenn., and Washington, D.C.

Aside: Erik Erikson observes in Young Lives Matter:

Today, in Washington, DC, hundreds of thousands of individuals – more than the combined total of all the police protests – will gather peacefully to begin their annual pilgrimage through DC to the steps of the Supreme Court to protest the greatest injustice America has ever faced – the lives of 57 million unborn children have been extinguished in America since the Supreme Court declared in 1973 a heretofore undiscovered right, nowhere written in the Constitution nor imagined when any part of it was adopted, for some Americans to legally kill other Americans, provided that the victims were sufficiently young ...

Approximately 38% of abortions in the U.S. were had by 6% of the population, black women. 72% of black children are born out of wedlock to a society that celebrates the machismo of the "baby daddy". A large percentage of these children will grow up completely supported by other peoples money. Then they will either be a part of the statistic that 78% of all violent crime is created by 6% of the population (black males), or, they will be the ones who are paid to birth more of the problem while condoning what has become of their community.

I shudder to think of the accelerated decay that would happen from outlawing abortion. Yes, I know, "Dats Raysis". -Anymouse the racist.

Rev. Rob Schenck has driven a wedge between pro-life and pro-Constitution conservatives and libertarians. He gave a speech for gun control at the big demonstration in Washington.

I support the Second Amendment. If I have to stop supporting the Second Amendment to be against abortion, well then, I won't be against abortion.

What about the 2nd Amendment isn't "pro-life"? OK, we know it's really not about deterring crime, it's about deterring tyranny. But while we have the God-given and Constitutionally-protected right to deter tyranny, we also have (thanks to Col. Colt, John Moses Browning et al) the means to protect our lives from murderous criminals. If that's not "pro-life", what is?

There is a difference between shooting the guilty and aborting the innocent.
