"Socialism keeps people dependent on the church"

Oh Tom; just the opposite I think. Socialists view the church as mortal enemy and do everything possible to supplant it.

But dont you think the church benefits from those that depend on it? Much like government.

The exact opposite Tom. The Church has been able to off-load its responsibilities to the poor, widows, orphans, etc through socialism. If the govt pays for those things, then the Church doesn't have to. From the Bishop's perspectives, it's a pragmatic approach, but also a cowardly and ultimately, an evil approach. It conflates our individual moral duty to be charitable (a good thing), with govt welfare programs (bad evil de-humanizing things)

I promise to stay out of the Religion Business if the Pope will mind His Own Fawking Business. We already have an Idiot Pretender in Chief resident here, meddling in everything that He does not understand. I need no advice from the Vatican on Economics, Morals or Government.

If He was doing his job, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden would have been Excommunicated by now.
