I never met a BAM (broad assed Marine) that thought she should go hump hills with the boys. Just another case of politicians meddling with things that already work. -Anymouse

In the late 90's, VMI admitted their first SCOGS (Supreme Court Ordered Girls)
Besides social issues (pregnancy, rape), no matter what the spinmasters say, the culture changed from one of high levels of physical, psychological and mental stress to prepare the cadets for military or other leadership roles in the real world, to a softer one.
I watched the end of one FTX (field training exercise, that pitted platoons of cadets against one another, and the last finishers had females straggling in, one of whom was carried the last ~100 yards to the finish line by her male platoon mates.
The SCOGS and the feminazis who pushed female integration into the Corps refused an offer of an identical program at a fine women's college nearby on the basis that it would not have the VMI culture and atmosphere.
Once SCOTUS shoved women down the Corps' throat, the first thing the feminazis and SCOGS did upon experiencing it was bitch about the harsh culture. In fact, the first SCOG, the prime plaintiff in the integration case, dropped out within a week or two starting the summer orientation program.
With the help of platoons of lawyers, the SCOGS changed the culture to a more tolerable, coddled one where they had perks the men did not; e.g., nicer bathrooms, not having the Ratline knob haircut, double standards for PT, etc.
I admire the women who really want to serve, but weakening combat arms branches by lowering the bar for social engineering goals is a danger to our country.

On the plus side, having a chick in your fire team would have given you something fun to do on those long, boring, rainy night watches, when the gooks weren't movin' and everything was groovin'.

Far as coming to get me when I was down with a wound... I think I'd rather have a man, who could drag me, at least.

There is a reason no one watches women's sports.

I watch all of the lady Terp's hoops games, and any others that pop into view. I prefer watching women's tennis over men's -- way more interesting.

"way more interesting"
Gee, I wonder why?

But. Women do not belong in infantry positions. There are plenty of other areas they can be effective, as you know about our family.

One sad thing was that the chicks were getting stress fractures, under actual fire they'd probably get broken legs from putting to much pressure on the stress fractures. It hurts morale to hear women scream.
