Florida used to be one big pill mill. In the last five years the pendulum has swung way back the other way. In the last two years I have had two friends have lumbar fusions. These folks have fought back pain for years and have a high tolerance for pain drugs. Both of them have come out of the operation with nothing more than a morphine drip, mostly useless. The prescriptions they go home with is completely inadequate and within 5 days they must get in the car and go to the pain mgmt doctor for their next two weeks supply. There is a case here where a guy bought 6 pills from an undercover DEA agent. He got 6 years in the Fed. We've gone from one extreme to the other. -Anymouse
