I'm sure this will engender some polite discussion.

It was only a moment before a superimposed ad appeared and refused to be cleared, making trying to view the list pretty darn annoying.

The other day I watched one of my favorite movies on TV: Louis Malle's "Atlantic City", starring Burt Lancaster and Susan Sarandon (whom I can't really stand, because of her politics, and because she doesn't come across as overly bright, but maybe that's redundant) and with the once-floy-floyish AC Boardwalk in a supporting role. I wish it'd been on the list, along with another fave, "The Usual Suspects".

That version of Le Carre's Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, with Gary Oldman as Smiley, pretty much sucked, relative to the PBS series with Obi Wan as Smiley.

"...the PBS series with Obi Wan as Smiley."

I've got both the original 'Tinker, Tailor' and 'Smiley's People' and re-watch them regularly.

As much as I love the shows I still think Obi Wan was Alec Guinness' best role even though he apparently hated it. Lucas never gave him the chance to do his patented 'sit quietly looking constipated' acting routine.
