Sarah Silverman:Twat!

It perhaps stands to reason that the loudest and most pugnacious Hollywood #NeverTrumpers are also the dumbest.  Today's prize winner: Sarah Silverman finds surveyor marks on the sidewalk and goes into full Nazi screech.

Don't think that's a surveyor's mark. More likely underground cable of some sort.

Wasn't there a story not too long ago about a school making a deaf boy change how he signed his name because it looked like "a gun"?

It's the fault of the workers for having a symbol too close to being Nazi. They will be forced to change it.

I place many marks on paving for different reasons, but usually, when I place a temporary benchmark, I place a spot of paint, circle the mark, place an "X" inside the circle and write the words TBM with an elevation.

One thing I never do is write inside an ADA ramp, which the truncated domes indicate. People that examine such things usually either have a heart attack, or are constipated for a week, when they find a curb ramp is defaced.

If I had to venture a guess for the reason of the "X", I'd say the ramp is condemned, for whatever reason the ADA Nazis feel is indicated, and it's slated for removal.

Another thing, orange is only used to mark electrical, or telecommunications. Sometimes, and x in orange may indicate the locator found no underground utilities and the site is clear for excavation.

Rodge, I used to work as a utility locator. I don't recall surveyors using paint. They used stakes to mark a point.

Orange is used for communication (phone, cable TV). We didn't use that particular mark, but something similar. Probably indicates a fiber optic line.
