1 dead, 8 injured, including gunman – from Sudan Truth: I'm a church usher, and from time to time have entertained this very possibility. |

Do you carry in church? I realize it is illegal in some states. I switched from a small gun to a full size semi-auto because in church I might have to take a 40'-45' head shot. Our auditorium seats about 120 and attendance ranges from 40 to 80 per service depending on the number of visitors. We are in a tourist destination and usually have plenty of unfamiliar faces. Greeting visitors not only helps them feel at home, but also gives us a chance to size them up in case they need help or might be a problem. There was similar church attack not far from from here in Knoxville a few years back. Be preprayered and prepared.

True, but he should not have had to run to his car to get it. If he made the effort to be able to carry, it should have been on him.

Do you carry in church? Why not?
Here's a Jewish angle on this question. No, not your typical, predictable Jewish Liberal angle, but a more practical (and Talmudic) angle provided by none other than Rabbi R. Mermelstein, affiliated with Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO):

Gee, from Sudan, huh? Who'd a-thunk it? People from there are usually so very peaceful and well-adjusted.
