FAKE STUDIES

Sir Roger Vernon Scruton is an English philosopher and writer who specialises in aesthetics and political philosophy, particularly in the furtherance of traditionalist conservative views.

In this clip he talks about fake subjects like women studies that invaded academia with their postmodernist views. Complete videos quoted under fair use:

Stab me in the liver!

" Basket Weaving" used to describe a safe haven course of study for football players.  I don't think a Basket Weaving degree was ever granted, but there are today Gender studies, Peace Studies, Cooperative Management, African American Studies, Music Therapy, Social Work,  and Criminal Justice degrees being granted.  And, why are degrees in journalism, or creative writing  for that matter, even taught?  Can anybody show me where someone holding a  PhD in Education has done something useful  with it?  Sneesh.
