Halsey epitomized an era when real men used to carry their balls around in a wheelbarrow. At the end of the Battle of the Leyte Gulf, Halsey was alerted to the fact that the water was full of Japanese sailors whose ships had been destroyed. When asked if they should be picked up he said: "Bring in cooperative Nip flotsam for an intelligence sample. Non-cooperators would probably like to rejoin their ancestors and should be accommodated." (site comment by Michael Miller)

That's right snowflake. And we liked it that way.   As an aside, Ron Metzger found an obvious history buff taking care of another vicious ape who threatened his wife and kids.  (via IOTW)
