Full BS is right.
So girls can be SEALs and Rangers, but can't throw a grenade? I guess when the female "Rangers" get into a firefight, the poor dears will have use up a time out card to get a guy to fling the grenade for them.
Most girls aren't raised up throwing things, and both boys and girls raised on soccer (no arms allowed)can't throw either.
More metrosexual feminazi PC crap.
I recall having to throw a number of dummy grenades to show we could throw with some control and distance before being allowed into the pit to throw a live one.
All who threw like a girl were weeded out = not allowed to throw a live one.
Grenade throw for accuracy was also part of our PT test to graduate from basic training.
BullshitBullshitBullshitBullshit.

Most people have no idea how the Military is being destroyed from within.
It was all put into motion by obozo, but it has continued under Trump
and Mattis. Shockingly Mattis and the Joint Chiefs wouldn't back
Trump on the Trans issue when he tried to reverse it....so it stayed
in place.
My former Army Special Forces training is being neutered with each passing
class. The 3 females who they rubber stamped through Ranger school failed
nunerous times and kept in the program. Their official records disappeared
and cannot be found. Everyone else's in the class are available. obozo
sent packing more than 250 Field Grade Officers during
his tenure. The stage has been set and it won't be reversed anytime soon.
It's disgraceful and extremely dangerous.

In 1960 I joined the USN 'cause I was tired of college and wanted to go places, learn a useful skill, and raise some hell knowin there'd be somebody there to watch my back.
At that point, the Navy still had a cadre of WWII and Korean War vets. Often I heard 'em say things such as, "You kids got it easy. It ain't like it was back in the 40s and 50s. They're makin things too cushy for you guys."
I did 24 years and retired. A couple years later, my youngest son joined, and I told him, "It ain't like it was back in the 60s and 70s. You guys got it easy."
He did 24 years, and when he retired 6 years ago, he said, "Dad, the Navy today ain't the same as it was when I joined. More like a sanctuary for sissies and whiners and no-loads. I donno what some of these kids would do in a real emergency."
Today his son is 24 years old and says he wouldn't join the military because he doesn't trust its leadership and can't understand how gays and transgenders in uniform make the country stronger.

I grew up seeing the pineapple grenade of WW2 and Korea. In the 1960s I was told that it had been replaced by a smooth skinned grenade, still pretty small. So far we are in the region of if you can throw a baseball, you can throw a grenade.
More recently I worked for an Army recruiting regiment. When I mentioned grenades, I was told that there was a newer design. Turns out it was larger than the previous designs. I figure that if you weren't used to throwing a baseball, this new one would be tougher to throw.
I don't know if this is the heart of the problem. Maybe they ought to return to an earlier, smaller grenade that was easier to throw. - 2/17/18, 3:13 PM

Make 'em all throw live grenades.
It'll help weed out the pussies. - 2/18/18, 8:19 AM

One thing is for sure, enemy troops will be trained to throw grenades, and that alone makes them superior to U.S. troops.
I don't know what they're trying to accomplish, but if it's to win in battle, they've shot their foot before it even started. They might as well put their hands up, and surrender before someone gets hurt. - 2/18/18, 10:03 AM

bocopro, Marine Corps lore has it that the first guy in line at Tun Tavern made his mark, handed the pen to the next man and said "You know, things were different in the Old Corps."
