Hmmmm

Blogger has somehow blocked my last post, and after rebooting even the original workup on my computer "save files"  has disappeared . I'm just saying.

Sounds like your new week is going to start with hot coffee and phone calls until someone explains how their "unfortunate glitch" managed to jump up and bite only your Curmudgeonly butt.

Remember, it's best to be sure the gun is unloaded before you begin fondling it while you sit on hold.

I made a decision this past December to move my blogs from Blogger to Wordpress. It was a pain to do but it was definitely worth it. I sent a link to a friend about some posts I made and he couldn't access them on his mobile. When I started digging in, blogger turned out to be a house of cards.

I set up wordpress myself so I saved that expense. I also had to deal with brute force password hacks which took my sites down until I installed plugins to thwart those attempts.

Just so you know, there is an option in blogger to back up your site. You might want to consider that. Back it up and store the backup file locally. Do that on a schedule like once a month. That backup can be imported into WordPress if you ever decide to go that router.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear that Rog. I can't say I haven't expected it to not happen AGAIN! So, I gotta' agree with what Christopher Mendla said above. I have mentioned numerous times that I wished you'd make the switch to Word Press from Gaggles' own Bugger. I'm not gonna' say, "I told ya' so" - I hate when people do that especially when they don't know all of the problem or, the difficulties involved in finding a solution. I'm only gonna' ask, when is enough, enough?

I moved mine to Typepad years ago, never looked back.

I have to agree with everything Christopher Mendla says. A few years ago (7?), I inherited webmaster duties for my ham radio club. The site was a hodgepodge of Dreamweaver and hand-coded HTML pages. Starting from zero prior experience with WordPress, I had a new minimalist site running in a couple of days. Self-hosted, too.
There are so many templates and plug-ins that if you can't find one you want, you used the wrong search phrase. Many of them are free and worth exactly the price. There are ones for sale which have corresponding free versions to allow you to test drive. In my never to be humble opinion, two of the must-haves are Akismet, a comments spam cleaner, and WordFence, s security plug-in which does an amazing job of hack-proofing your site. Combined total, about $150/year.
In addition to the link Chris provided, here's another to help convince you: https://howtomakemyblog.com/blogger-vs-wordpress/
