Imagine that

It's interesting that your post before this was about the war on Christmas & "Imagine" was also an anti-Christian song.

"imagine" a Merry Christmas for Rodge, his family, and all the good visitors here!
(PS - Rodge- where did your "Donate" button go to?)

"Imagine there's no countries. It isn't hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for, and no religion, too."

Golly, we still think John Lennon was a genius, and this is a great song, musically, but content-wise it really sucks. It plays right into the open-borders, globalist, Marxist agenda. We're betting that Yoko Ono put him up to it.

^Agreed, though quite frankly, I never cared for the song. Period. Lennon did some good material; this wasn't among it.

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

This version is maybe my favorite Christmas song ever; as performed by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Plus, "God bless us, everyone."

Then again, for any minimalist, a capella fans out there; myself included:

Hit it, Four Aces!

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!

OK, so the Four Aces are, erm, aces. But WTF does that have to do with John Lennon's "Imagine"?

Nice post. I really enjoy reading it. Very instructive, keep on writing.

I was saluting the kid’s genius folks. The song was never a favorite, and viewed as just more of the hippy bulshit of the times. Remember, I was foremost among those who rude that we had not nuked Woodstock and saved the nation from the ascendancy of left wing school teachers who are at the root of today’s political climate. Merry Christmas.

Very talented kid, and he did that horrid song very well.

Now "imagine" that he'd wanted to play "Oh Come All Ye Faithful," or wish everyone a Merry Christmas; the school would probably still be on lockdown with SWAT teams looking for the Christians, who would be lectured about how religion is not tolerated in schools except for the muslim variety.

Anyway, I hope everyone did have a Merry Christmas, and I'm looking forward to a Happy New Year where the gov't will remain closed for a long, long time!

I have always liked this song, notwithstanding that its lyrics are 20th century Godless blather.

Rather rich for a man who lived in the Dakotas in Manhattan, where entry prices probably exceed $5,000,000 at least.

I'm merely trying to:

"Imagine all the people, living life in peace."

That's what.

Meanwhile, you're harshing my mellow.

Peace on earth.

Mercy mild.

And what have you.

I just heard that a performance of "Imagine" will be one of the "highlights" of the New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square. Presumably the 1,000,000+ people in attendance (some estimate the crowd at 2,000,000) will be gleefully singing along and thereby tacitly approving (even advocating) open borders, the end of national sovereignty and patriotism, and the end of religion.

It's a good thing that's happening in NYC. Folks wouldn't sing along with that shit in flyover country.

I'm OK with the end of some religion. What if the lyrics went "Nothing to kill or die for, and no fucking Islam too"?
