He is the champion of neo-nazis and white Nationalists, of the police who kill the Black, Brown and poor on a daily basis, of racist border agents and sadistic prison guards, of the FBI and NSA who tap your phone and read your email. He is the harbinger of even more climate catastrophe, deportation, discrimination, and endless war. He continues to deny the existence of climate change, in spite of all the evidence, putting the future of the whole human race at stake.The KKK, Vladimir Putin, Golden Dawn, and the Islamic State all cheered his victory. The Confederate Battle Flag (actual) This fairly sums up my feelings on the subject, even—begrudgingly—the "good neighbor" part (with the caveat that their current dudgeon is entirely due to ignorance).  And,  I must once again invoke  Shelby Foote.  Once the flag is gone, the left will advance to the next issue then the next issue, etc. They won’t compromise. There is no compromise. There is only conversion or censorship with the left. But I also think if you proudly fly the Confederate battle flag and call yourself a Christian, you need to ask yourself how you are being a good neighbor to the black family down the street, next door, or on the other side of town whose ancestors were enslaved under that flag and whose parents or grandparents faced down white men in the streets waving that flag as an act of rebellion against voting rights. None of this really matters though. Because the issue is now politicized, you might as well buy stock in companies that produce the Confederate battle flag. Do you desire actual racial harmony? I have news for you: you’re in the minority. It seems even the most ardent champions fighting against racism are often avowed racists. Case in point: Dr. Saida Grundy, a black professor set to start teaching at Boston University on July 1. She decided it was a good idea to get on Twitter and pontificate in a most scholarly fashion concerning the obstacles that need to be destroyed in order to achieve racial equality. Unfortunately, one of those obstacles is apparently the entire white male population. Below are some calm, well-reasoned tweets, absolutely none of which were written in ALL CAPS!!!!!!! or without any punctuation at all, and all of which avoid hasty and/or sweeping generalizations. Because that wouldn't be fitting for a college professor. /sarcasm [Last Resistance] Just prior to stumbling across that Grundy-race bait,  I saw this blurb about "Confederate  Flag at Prom flag" horror on CNN's  Amtrak story page.  The whole Confederate flag is a racist meme has been explained and refuted so many times (myfavorite is Shelby Foote's) that we know not to try.  Rabble rousing race baiters like Saida Grundy, or Barry Obama for that matter, are not interested in reason.  I'll close by paraphrasing Obama's recent comments about why FOX NEWS needs shutting down. They will find folks who make me mad. I don’t know where they find them. They’re all like, “this is racist. and so is that,  and if you don't believe me then you be a racist mofo, or whatever.” And that becomes an entire narrative that gets worked up.
