I watched an intriguing show about the new Tesla Model S sedan on the Wealth channel.  It (seats 5) will supposedly get 160 miles on batteries (the 50K price quote; the 300 mile range quoted is with  largest battery option +$$).  Here's the question that needs answering. If I use my portable generator to recharge it, how many gallons would  be consumed?  Not a trick question, because I don't know the answer.  Does anyone out there know?

Here's Hoping I Cause Some Strokes

I took two of them, but don't give a ratsass what my footprint is because it's bogus crap!  The Nature Conservancy, for instance,  includes the amount of meat consumed in its calculations.  That of course sends me into baby seal bashing mode. According to "BP," I produce 16 tons of CO2, less than the average of 18.58  http://www.bp.com/extendedsectiongenericarticle.do?categoryId=9015627&contentId=7029058this  According to these yahoos at Carbon Footprint I produce 24 tons and they say the average is 20 tons.  They then try to make you feel bad by saying the world average is 4 tons.  What they don't say is that 5 billion of the 6 billion on the planet live in corrugated shacks or mud huts with no electricity, running water, personal cars, TV, computers, etc.  They want us to go down to 2 tons per person!  In other words, live in caves and wipe our asses with leaves.  http://www.carbonfootprint.com/calculator.aspx  Nature.org  says I produce 44 tons!!!!!!!!  They also say the US average is 27 tons and the world average is 5.5 tons.  http://www.nature.org/initiatives/climatechange/calculator/  The yahoos at Green Yahoo say I produce 16.4 tons with a US average of 9.4  http://green.yahoo.com/calculator/results  The Earthlab folks say I produce 15 tons.  http://www.earthlab.com/carbonProfile/LiveEarth.htm  ClimateStar.org says I only produce 11.8 tons.  http://go.ucsusa.org/calculator.html  And what we would think would be the best source for accurate information (given it is their job) the folks at the EPA say I produce 13 tons.  The US average?  20 tons.  http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/emissions/ind_calculator.html   If all these flamers can't agree amongst themselves what we produce nor what we should produce why is anyone even listening to them?  Just check out the wild variations in my numbers---anything from 12 to 44 tons!!  Almost 400% from one extreme to the other.   Just thought you might want to know.  (Hope you’ve not done something like this as I’ve not searched your blog for it)   Vilmar   P.S.
