Our Future?

—  You Utter Berks

The University of Florida wants students to know that if they’re offended or scared by Halloween, there’s counselors on hand to walk them through the traumatic experience.

“October brings fall weather and Halloween,” the university wrote in a blog titled “Halloween Costume Choices” posted to its website Monday. [I am not making this up]]

Obama Doubles Down

Leskobama
Doubles-Down

Today, Obama will travel to Las Vegas where he will outline new steps to help borrowers refinance. The White House leaked the story to the Post’s chief competitors on the national newspaper scene, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, as well as Reuters.

Quoting administration officials, here’s a portion of the Journal’s description of Obama’s proposal, which it says Obama is expected to talk about Monday:
Filthy Democrats

The overhaul will, among other things, let borrowers refinance regardless of how far their homes have fallen in value, eliminating previous limits. The plan will streamline the refinance process by eliminating appraisals and extensive underwriting requirements for most borrowers. Fannie and Freddie have also agreed to waive some fees that made refinancing less attractive for some.

Via Larwyn's Linx, Petty Punishment for the Washington Post exposes another Obama pettiness. The real story though is that, not for the first time, this nincompoop is giving us more of what poisoned us.

Dirt Naps?

Clap Clap Clap
Oh, the humanity!

Liberals famously fight any perceived injustice the hard way, by making themselves feel good.  They have nude bike rides, nude marches, wear colored ribbons, have eat-ins, sit-ins, and run-ins with the law.  They fuck for peace, and sell brownies.  The rollover picture, however, takes the cake.  Nap For Humanity?  Clap Clap Clap.

Guys with earrings who piss in the garbage can

Rules to live by

Don't pee in the garbage can

As I set pen to paper here, I'm thinking about how my cooking channels viewing has changed over the past decade.  Shows that I couldn't get enough of, like Emeril Live and Iron Chef, no longer hold my interest.  My new favs are found on the Travel Channel. Andrew Zimmern's  Bizarre Foods , Adam Richman's Man v. Food,  and Anthony Bourdain's  No Reservations.  All three are about eating, not cooking food (a fact that just struck me.  Ahem)  Anyway, last night Anthony Bourdain is in Nicaragua , which linked clip stops short of what I want to tell you.  Bourdain is dining with this young Nicaraguan host, and is positively intent on revisiting The 1980s Sandnista revolution (which left Nicaragua as the poorest nation in the central America).  The kid says he is too young to remember those bad days, and Bourdain responds:

"Everything I knew or heard about that era was colored by my distaste for Reagan and Oliver North."

Why did he do that?  I was already a little leery of him for wearing an earring, and since he's a Manhattan guy, had I bothered to think about his politics, which I never did, his chance of being a Liberal asshat was on the order of 100 to 1.  Anyway, I flicked channels, and did not watch the two new episodes that followed. Not because I wanted to exact some kind of revenge.  Because now,  whenever I see him, the first thing that will come to mind is that crack. He and I could never share the same table, because if we did I'd be compelled to bring up Reagan, and that conversation could only end badly.  Maybe I'll get over it in time. But why pee in garbage can to begin with?  If you're an entertainer looking for the biggest possible following?

A Social Worker

A Small House
Today's Idyll

A Small House

Fresh out of Columbia Univ. with a degree in Social Services, Margaret chose to persue a career in the American backwater. Her first case took her to a home in rural Tennessee. The tiniest house she had ever seen.  She knocked on the door.

"Anybody home?" she asked.

"Yep," came a kid's voice through the door.

"Is your father there?"  asked the social worker.

"Pa?  Nope, he left afore Ma came in," said the kid.

"Well, is your mother there?" persisted the social worker.

"Ma?  Nope, she left  just afore I got here," said the kid.

"But," protested the  social worker, "are you never together as a family?"

"Sure, but not here," said the kid through the door.  "This is the outhouse!"

The hanging judge? Or hang the judge?

Kafkaesque torture -
today's 'justice' system

"It is ... not our job to sit in judgment of whether state and local frustration about federal immigration policy is warranted. We are, however, required to intervene when states and localities directly undermine the federal objectives embodied in statutes enacted by Congress," wrote Chief Judge Theodore McKee. - In dismissing the Hazelton PA law that enforced  federal immigration law.

Toy Gun Licensing

Unlicensed toy gun

Australia to License Toy Guns

ANY ITEM that looks like a gun will have to be licensed under several changes to the Weapons Act being considered by the Queensland State Government.

Even guns made out of materials as unlikely as soap or plastic may have to be kept under lock and key if they could "reasonably be taken to be a weapon".

"If it looks like a gun and feels like a gun, it will have to be licensed," said a government source.

"We just want to know where they are."

Reporter Robyn Ironside then adds, "It is unclear how the draft affects toy guns." ?!?

I'm guessing that Queensland is Australia's Maryland.  Anyone?  If this isn't farcical enough for you so far, try this.
Failure to license an imitation weapon will carry a maximum $4500 fine under the proposals and incorrect storage carries a penalty of $750.
Just stab me in the liver and be done with it.  By the bye - did you ever look at Dillingers wood gun up close ?

McGovern voting .. why go further?

How familiar is the
following exchange?

Boned Jello

McGovern-voting Granduncle: Let the immigrants in! We’re a nation of immigrants! You fucking bigot!

You: Actually I’m not concerned about race, I’m concerned about why someone would choose to circumvent our immigration laws. How come I have to follow laws while we’re defining a whole class of people who don’t have to, and we don’t even know who they are?

Hostess: Oh, stop fighting you two! Here we are having a lovely dinner and you have to bring politics into it. Just let him call you a reprehensible, cross-burning scum-sucking douchebag asshole xenophobe and then let’s move on! There’s cheesecake!

When Losers Make the Rules

Back when we called a spade a spade,
and nobody took offense
...

Back in the day, whomever dreamed this one up, wouldn't have .

Win a soccer game by more than five points and you lose, Ottawa league says

In yet another nod to the protection of fledgling self-esteem, an Ottawa children’s soccer league has introduced a rule that says any team that wins a game by more than five points will lose by default.

Kevin Cappon said he first heard about the rule on May 20 — right after he had scored his team’s last allowable goal. His team then tossed the ball around for fear of losing the game.

“Heaven forbid when these kids get into the real world. They won’t be prepared to deal with the competition out there.”

I know what you're saying.  "But Rodge, that's in Canada." So was nationalized health care.  You want a solution?  Here's a solution. Whenever you get a sense that others in your community are outraged by stuff like this, act. Find out who's in charge and read the riot act.  Didn't work?  Picket his house.  Didn't work?  Hang him.

They anxious to come too!

The definitionof "hard core"

Case in point
"I believe no one can read the history of our country without realizing that the Good Book and the spirit of the Savior have from the beginning been our guiding geniuses. Whether we look to the first Charter of Virginia or the Charter of New England or the Charter of Massachusetts Bay or the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, the same objective is present – a Christian land governed by Christian principles.

I believe the entire Bill of Rights came into being because of the knowledge our forefathers had of the Bible and their belief in it: freedom of belief, of expression, of assembly, of petition, the dignity of the individual, the sanctity of the home, equal justice under law, and the reservation of powers to the people…I like to believe we are living today in the spirit of the Christian religion. I like also to believe that as long as we do so, no great harm can come to our country."  - Earl Warren

Boned Jello

How far off the ideological map have Liberals strayed? When they get bent out of shape by the words of erstwhile Chief Justice of the United States Earl Warren, the man who stopped school prayer,  the turd has hit the bottom of the canyon.  Plop!

Of course they had no idea they were objecting to Warren's words (Breakfast in Washington, Monday, Feb. 15, 1954)while belly-aching over an invocation that cleverly used them as a trap.

The invocation came near the end of arguments over textbook standards that will be used in Texas for the next 10 years. Board members approved 9-5 a series of changes that emphasize the teaching of American history and rejected attempts by historical revisionists to change significant parts of the nation's story, officials said. He could create a job vacancy though...

Obama urges action on job creation
President Obama asked Congress on Thursday to swiftly pursue a new round of jobs legislation, arguing that his steps to rescue the economy are working, but nobody knows it.

Need we say more about the classic Liberal arrogance that allows them to think gummint creates jobs?  Not create an atmosphere that encourages it, but actually create them?  I didn't think so.
