If you're the Vietnamese (I almost typed "North Vietnamese") gummint, you're aware that northern neighbor China rules its internet with an iron fist.  So when their chat rooms are abuzz with plans detailing a 31-day invasion, starting with five days of missile strikes from land, sea and air and climaxing in an invasion involving 310,000 troops sweeping into Vietnam from Yunnan , Guangxi and the South China Sea. The electronic jamming of Vietnamese command and communications centers is mentioned, along with the blocking of sea lanes in the South China Sea, you pay attention.   Is it Having fun at Vietnam's expense, or loose lips sinking junks?  I dunno.  Chinese commies don't strike me as a fun-bunch. I don't care, either.  If China does occupy 'Nam, it gives us reason to nuke them both,  Hoo-ahhhhh!

I just downloaded and installed Google's Chrome browser.  I don't know if they care whether it's a smash, or not, Google prolly just wants to force Microsoft into diverting resources playing defense.  I loaded my page, which was quick, and the result is at least as pleasing as IE, and a tad smoother than Firefox.  I'll play with it more later on, although I do fear and loathe Google.

The George W Bush administration should have put twice the resources into the beleaguered country, they harangued me - not just soldiers, but agronomists, traffic cops, lawyers, judges, and physicians. The Department of Agriculture should have mobilized, along with the Department of Justice. Nation-building? Doubling down on the US commitment to Iraq? Isn't that trying to out-Bush the Bush administration, while Obama campaigned on getting out of Iraq and spending the money on programs at home? Unblinking, one of the soldiers said, "That's what we think Barack will do." They believed in a more expensive version of the administration's program, and faulted Bush for half measures - and somehow they believed that Obama really agreed with them, all the public evidence to the contrary. And they believed in Barack with perfect faith. It is conceivable that Barack Obama, if elected, will destroy himself before he destroys the country. Hatred is a toxic diet even for someone with as strong a stomach as Obama ... Both Obama and the American public should be very careful of what they wish for. Linda S.OG.does not know I'm doing this. But I know that over the weekend she had to rush to the ER after her vision began to fail, so this tumor thing is not over. Her hair is , uh, thinning from the treatments. The medicines, chemo, etc, are somewhat debilitating, as you know.  A few weeks ago many of you contributed to the fund SondraK, Chrissie, and I promoted to help her pay for her tumor surgery - and horry clap! She received over $1200. While that's a lot of money, it amounts to just about her entire discretionary income for the next six months, by which time she must have paid off several medical loans. I urged Linda before to get a Pay Pal button, but her pride got in the way. Finally, Chrissie (Wild Thing) was able to talk her into it, so if you can, click on her site, and buy her a Big Mac and some fries, or a mushroom and onion pizza. I know you join me in not wanting to see Linda in a cheap wig, all scrawny from living off dented can food, and forced to sing folk songs and perform street mime? Am I right? Thanks.
