STUXNET

The only thing I can say is that it's
something designed to go bang...

Boned Jello

... Stuxnet was built by a very sophisticated and capable attacker -- possibly a nation state -- and it was designed to destroy something big ... .

The worm actually looks for very specific Siemens settings -- a kind of fingerprint that tells it that it has been installed on a very specific Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) device -- and then it injects its own code into that system.

...  when Stuxnet finally identifies its target, it makes changes to a piece of Siemens code called Organizational Block 35. This Siemens component monitors critical factory operations -- things that need a response within 100 milliseconds. By messing with Operational Block 35, Stuxnet could easily cause a refinery's centrifuge to malfunction, but it could be used to hit other targets too, Byres said. "The only thing I can say is that it is something designed to go bang," he said. [Full]

I'm absolutely fascinated by this.  It's a certainty that the winning side in the next great world war  (if it hasn't already begun) will  prevail with cybertoge.  Nerds rule the universe.  Awk!

What's that in English?

Marco en Espanol

Ben Smith observes "The prospect of this ad on a national Republican campaign has to scare Democrats, who depended heavily on a Hispanic swing-vote in 2008."  No doubt, but what effect will they have on people disgusted by the Balkanization these foreign language ads represent? There is no way a nation with multiple language, religions, and traditions represent a step forward. This will simmer.

Government Lap Taps

Government Lap Taps?
I'd rather take my chances
To better track criminals, U.S. wants to be able to wiretap online communications. [Wiretapped phones, now Internet?]

Gummint Lap Taps

I'm sure they do.  The better plan?  Destroy every snoop cam, arm every citizen, evict every illegal.  Government has moved squarely onto  the "TIME TO REPLACE" square, and at this time is a far greater threat to the nation than anything they hope to forestall with these draconian plans.

Iran's intestinal worm

A worm's worm

Tehran, Iran: A computer worm has seized control of Iran’s first nuclear power station, just weeks before the facility was ready to go online; possibly explaining Netanyahu’s reluctance to bomb the facility.

... a team is trying to remove the worms from several infected computers, but those readers who are familiar with the problem know, without uninfected back-up the situation may be hopeless. ...  If the back-up was available, they would have never admitted there was a problem.

I want to believe that the Israeli's perped this thing, and that the report of infection in the US is a red herring.

democracy overthrown
"The first thing we started to do was look at houses with more than six voters in them" Engelbrecht said, because those houses were the most likely to have fraudulent registrations attached to them. "Most voting districts had 1,800 if they were Republican and 2,400 of these houses if they were Democratic . . .

"But we came across one with 24,000, and that was where we started looking."...
Tea Party Group Exposes Massive SEIU Voter Fraud Scheme?

Boned Jello

Even if your team is behind by three scores with 5 minutes to go, there's hope.  Unless the referee has been dishonest in his application of the rules; then it's a farce.  Those of you who like me live in a state where voter fraud is the rule, know the despair and cynicism it fosters.  It is my heartfelt opinion that voter fraud is as serious a crime as selling state secrets during wartime, and should be a capitol crime carrying the death penalty.   Just one instance of successful vote fraud can have cataclysmic repercussions.  Without Sen. Al Franken's pivotal vote,  for example, Obamacare would not have become law.

... findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Sean Caddle, who also works for the Service Employees International Union. Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid. Tea Party Group Exposes Massive SEIU Voter Fraud Scheme?

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's six nights in New York featured a secret sit-down with militant minister Louis Farrakhan, heckling in a hotel bar, and a fear of being rubbed out that bordered on paranoia. -A'jad monster's ball

I watched an American Gangsters yesterday, about Jeff Fort, the founder of  Chicago's community organizers Blackstone Rangers/El Rukin.   Fort had incredible magnetism,  and used it to build the largest, most violent street gang in Chicago's history.  Once, a woman recalled, the gang descended on a funeral home where a guy they'd shot was being waked.  They ripped his corpse from the casket, dragged it the into the street, and proceeded to shoot the hell out of it "to make sure he was really dead." Fort was convicted in 1987 for conspiring with Libya to perform acts of domestic terrorism. I spent the entire time looking for Obama's face among those thugs.  I know he was there.

The parallel between Fort and Obama is manifestly evident.  That's what I see.  That, and some pictures of Mussolini.  -

That famous "moderate" Mike Bloomberg

Tonight's self lampooning story lede.
In Washington, a new advocacy group decries 'the tyranny of hyperpartisanship.' And powerful New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg throws his support behind candidates willing to reach across the aisle.
Boned Jello
That's from a LATimes story Tired of 'tea party' sniping, moderates organize
Stick a bottle of Scotch in Bloomberg's hand, unzip his trousers, and you have Ted Kennedy.  Okay, that does fit the description of a "moderate" Republican I guess.  What a hoot.

By the way, George Will has been doing yeomanlike work lately on behalf of the Tea Party.[George Will Schools This Week Panel on Tea Party Causing GOP Civil War]

"At the beginning of the year, the question was, will the Tea Party people play nicely with others and will they obey the rules of politics? Who's sort of not playing nicely?" asked Will.

"Mr. Crist starts losing the primary to a Tea Party favorite Rubio. He suddenly discovers that he's an independent and changes all his views overnight," he continued.

"Mrs. Murkowski loses a primary and suddenly discovers that she has a property right in her Senate seat and she's going to run as a write-in. Senator Bennett thought of that in Utah, Senator Castle in Delaware is thinking of a write-in candidate. Who are the extremists?"

How much for that saddle. Oh ...

Which witch Mo?

Has a lifetime of drugs and liberal hedonism left Maureen Dowd as dried up and useless as a leather shoe left under the desert sun for 60 years?
Two girlfriends of mine who lived in Los Angeles went to lunch one day at a chic restaurant. One was crying over a spilt romance. The sympathetic waiter appeared at the end of lunch to offer four lines of  cocaine on a silver tray. Don't even ask about ladies' rooms in the 70's.

Maureen Dowd under the makeup
Maureen Dowd
Yesterday we featured bitter liberal Mike Malloy telling Liz Cheney to "go plan your father's funeral,"  Today  it's aging harpy Maureen Down teeing-off on Christine O’Donnell.  Why is Mo exercised to the point of needing exorcism?  Because:
Boned Jello
  • Christine O’Donnell is endorsed by the Tea Party and had the temerity to beat  RINO Mike Castle who was a sure thing to beat old Marxist Democrat Chris Coons but now Republicans don't stand a chance because O'Donnel is at least as dumb as Sarah Palin and Christine is behind Coons in the polls and isn't all  this just a travesty?
So, we are to assume that this liberal cow wanted Republican Mike Castle to win Joe Biden's old senate seat?   And now, thanks to O'Donnell, a Democrat will take it?

Nuh-uh. She's lashing out at shadows.

Her world order is being dismantled by a movement that, more and more,  has as its figureheads a passel of conservative women!  Vital, lovely, and committed to an ideal and with ideas that have gone viral.  Women like she no longer is, if she ever was. She seems destined to serve out her days at a dying newspaper she helped kill, playing the roll once held by Helen Thomas. A cranky, angry, hateful, and inconsequential hag.

By the bye, Mo, anyone who still champions the concept of Anthropogenic Global Warming is pretty much out of the game of passing judgement on anybody.
