Is John Murtha a crook as well as a traitor? Yeppir, he is.

John Murtha's Week
Like everyone else I develop biases as a byproduct of living life.  One of them is that,  since Vietnam,  I view any military man who goes into politics as a Democrat as being either, 1) Embittered over some perceived slight; 2) A Manchurian Candidate; 3) Missing a chromosome; 4) Willing to cynically use the democrat's need for ex-military colleagues  ( to dilute their historic "party of treason" image) to his advantage.  Some, like John Kerry,  may well qualify under all four criteria, and the more we learn about him, John Murtha too.  Here's  a look at Murtha's week.

One of the links quotes a letter alegedly from the Marine Commandant's office as follows: ""The records of this Headquarters show that you are entitled to the Purple Heart and a Gold Star in lieu of a second Purple Heart for wounds received in action against insurgent Communist Guerrilla forces on 22 March and 7 May 1967 in the Republic of Vietnam," according to the letter signed by an individual identified only as A. Gardoni"

AFAIK, for all medals but a few which get a number, 2nd awards get a bronze oak leaf cluster and always have. In addition, most official miltary letters contain the rank and position of the writer; e.g., Capt. G. Jones, Adjt.

I smells a rat.
