Gunboy duToit [Position Paper (2)] takes a stand on the Danish cartoons that nobody could quibble with - five years ago.  Tolerance and civility ought to rule all our lives (Howard Dean .. Hello...), but not now, not where Islam is concerned.  I consider that we - the Western World -  are in a state of war against Islamism, a World War.  You might wish we were not, but you would be whistling past the graveyard.  Just as we depicted ''Japs'' and Nazis as baby eating monsters during WWII, so too may Islamo fascists be ridiculed by propaganda - a necessary tool of war.  (If it is forbidden to create a likeness of Prophet Muhammad, how can anyone get mad at a cartoon?  I mean, where's the historical reference to his likeness?  The rioters might as well be outraged over a Ulysses S. Grant cartoon, right? Just an aside.) 'But Rodge, what about the Muslims here, in America, who are truly patriotic, but still have an abiding love for their faith?''   I am sympathetic to them.  The religious left in this country have declared war against Christianity, and it pisses me off to no end when they mock Jesus Christ, but notice that nobody has been beheaded because of it (pity, too, or we would be done with Jon Stewart).  Anyway, the solution is easy.  There are Sunni and Shi'ite sects of Islam, so add another.  Call it the Allah sect, or the Detroit sect, I don' t care.  Whatever they call themselves,  let them stand up and denounce the goals and aims of al-Qaeda, and the Saudi Wahhabism that spawned it,  in no uncertain terms. Let them believe that the institutional hatred taught by many imam wackos is heretical. Let them call for a  fatwa against them  Let them treat al-Qaeda sympathizers in their own communities the same way Nazi symps were treated in 1942.  Rooted out and thrown down wells. To them, we can play nice.
