Follow-up: Rob Reiner's vision for ''The Golden Shower'' state.
''I'm a native Californian, but got driven out when that last rent increase hit on my little apartment. The crowding, the rudeness, the fact that most of the San Ferando Valley has a Tijuana Bazaar look to it, and there is the language barrier. I don't just mean the lack of English, but the "English" the native children and teens are speaking. They are so badly educated they can't compose declarative sentences. Their parents don't care.

Things improved when I got a job offer from a firm in Tennessee. I spent all of about 10 seconds making that decision, and got out last July.

re U-Haul: I had a reservation for a trailer in 3 weeks in advance of pickup and I still had to go 130 miles one way to pick one up. The U-Haul yards were virtually empty in SoCal.''
