"You are embarrassing the angels."

Thanks for that. Good food for thought. Public manners and discretion have become like frogs in a pot of cool water set upon the heat. Slowly warming to their inevitable deaths. I like her chosen reponse in this period of lent. 0:)

Last month while going through airport security at SMF, the surgical hardware in my leg set off the alarm. I was pulled aside, in my socks, and sat down. Both legs wanded, asked to stand for the body wanding before the pat down in full view of all. The female agent I ecountered was also tall and rather largish. She was, however, completely respectful and explained every move prior to conducting it.
OTOH, TSA at ATL, were indifferent and frosty. Thank goodness I didn't get wanded there. joyce

Joyce, I even find going to the hospital to be a trial now, too. No one is allowed to retain any modesty. Do they even know what that is? I avoid it because one is expected to lie on the bed virtually naked for any hospital personnel to come by and examine. I know I am old, and considered old-fashioned by most, but would it be too much of an inconvenience to leave me a little modesty?

Mary, Today's world knows not the meaning of modesty--sadly. My own dad nearly cried w/the lack of dignity he recieved from a brusk, female nurse while hospitalized. I'm glad I showed up to make him laugh again.
In the end his brain tumor left him unaware, but a male attendent did make sure family members were out of the room while bathing and adjusting him. That WAS a choice for Dad's dignity. :) joyce

mmm... today 'lady' is more "hay Laaaaaaady!" and 'gentleman' is reserved for accused serial murderers and thugs on death row.

The last time I flew out of Cincinnati I watched in stunned amazement that everyone who went through the metal detector set it off and then everyone was hand wanded and passed. Who was screwed up, the machine or the poor dumb bastard who never got a break all day?

In Kansas City I got wanded by an old bitch who used that paddle wand to iron my shirt to my body. What part of "non contact device" did she miss in her training?

I am convinced that there have been no terrorist hijackings because no self respecting terrorist is going to put up with this crap.
